Does this only include supercapital ship BPOs these days?
I thought it also included some T2 BPOs, but I have heard these are largely collectibles which take about 7 years to pay for themselves and require a lot more effort in terms of manufacturing and selling the product.

I wouldn't exactly call supercap production "low effort". Just the necessary hauling is a pain in the posterior already, and while the security risks are nowadays quite low, they're not zero (whereas, stuff like BS production can be made with virtually zero risk in highsec). Sure, the "work" part is concentrated in a brief flurry at the start followed by a lot of waiting, and on average it might even be less effort than BS construction, but, meh.
T2 BPOs "pay off" in anywhere between 1 to 10 years (depending on item and your luck on how the market evolves and how much in a hurry the previous owner was to get rid of it), and the required effort is almost certainly below that of supercap production. Plus it can be done in highsec, so the risk is virtually eliminated. No wonder supercap production is a bit more profitable overall.
Supercap BPC creation though... that one is indeed extremely low effort and sufficiently profitable in the long run... FOR NOW... you know, IF nothing would change in the future (which is a very risky gamble, if you ask me, considering the number of "nerf supercap" complaints). All of a sudden supercap demand could actually drop and then you can only sell your BPCs for peanuts compared to how much you can get now, also forget about selling the BPO (with research on it) for the price you paid for it. Heck, I've already seen people selling researched supercap BPOs for barely over NPC price at the end of the auction, when supercap demand is still rising... imagine how much you'll get for it if demand stops rising or begins to reduce.

IMO you should include time to market. Everybody and their grandmothers can make BS's. Not only do you have to streamline your manufacturing logistics but visa versa as well which is a big time sink.

I have searched far and wide. Spent months researching the markets, crunching numbers and performing experiments. I have finally found the most profitable activity in EVE which takes so little effort you wouldn't believe it. I can sit on my lounge chair on the beach and my charcater in EVE will be making tens of millions of isk per hour. And that activity is .......

Sadly a lot of what your asking depends on you.
Most manufacturing can be fairly easy if you setup right, the hardest part is the research of what to build, and be willing / able to understand you may have to switch to somthing new after some time once you flood the market.
Use RF Frieghts or a company like it to move your minerals (try adn build close to what ever area your buying minerals). Then again use RF Freights to distribute your production lines. Make sure to include there fee's into your calcluations so that you know your still hitting a profit margin.
So My Basic Setup: Buy minerals in Jita (I use sell orders, so really easy for me)
COntract to RF Freights, they move them to my building location (Use any haulers, i just like them)
Build what you need built.
Contract back to RF Freights to move to your sell points.
Quick Sell or Put on Sell orders.
Profit!

Oh pleeeeeeeeeease. Why don't you try a more obvious advert for RF Freights. Personally, I haul all my own things over the Universe. Then I don't have to give RF Freights any of my profits at all.

And you're making tens of roundtrip runs per day on average ? There comes a point where you just say "screw it" and you hire haulers. _

If you managed your orders properly, you wouldn't need to make tens of runs.

At the volumes _some_ people work with, "managing orders" in a single small area is nowhere near sufficient even if you would be online almost constantly, which you can't be. The "big shots" usually setup bulk mineral deliveries with mining corps on top of buy orders across multiple areas. Think ~100 manufacture slots or even more. Yes, there are people like that. No, I am not one of them. _

Learn to quote. I mentioned you can use any ohter company, I don't know of any myself.
Secondly, I pay 1.55mil isk per trip, totaling 3.1mil isk per round trip. If your trading and can't afford an extra 3mil your doing somthing majorily wrong.
Third, if your hauling your own stuff, you need to take that time into account, meaning in the end your making less isk than you think per time working on it.

This is what I had in mind, should have been clearer in the OP. You raise a good point about BPO depreciation...if titan BPCs drop to like 1-2bil suddenly the investment takes 5 years to pay for itself. At that point it looks like you're better off just keeping 100% of your wealth in cash and waiting for patches.

Courier contracts add a lot more clicks and typing...you have to calculate your collateral and check it twice, make sure everything is in volume groups <950k m3, and so on. If you double the number of clicks you've cut your profit/time spent nearly in half. Might be easier to just put up a sell order and wait a month.

Best option right there, I've found that dual boxing a sugar momma and sugar daddy is the most efficent means of GTC income. "Every Pirate is a lost soul waiting to be shown the light" |
