The price of technetium is going up so are the t2 ships that need them. My question is: how scarce are technetium moons and how hard is it to obtain this ore? i know people in 0.0 with moon poses but is there a vault of technetium that nullsec corps are keeping for prices to rise until they finally relieve us? your thoughts?

The technetium moons are all in the hands of the NC.. as they have the monopoly, they set the price.

At least two big things wrong with that statement. While they may have a good portion of the Technetium moons under their control, I doubt the Northern Coalition as a whole controls much more than half of the Technetium moons in the game, if even remotely that much. Even if they controlled 90% of the moons (which they almost certainly don't, not even in the most tinfoilhatteriest scenario possible), they're nowhere near an unified conglomerate from a financial standpoint, they actually DO compete between themselves as far as market sales are concerned - each of the individual corporations within the group wants to get THEIR ISK as soon as possible. The current technetium price REALLY IS the "fair" price, given the relative scarcity of materials compared to need, and the price would be even higher if there wouldn't have been some pretty large stockpiles of Techentium from before the Dominion build requirement shuffle. As existing stockpiles dwindle and people try to fight more often over existing moons, T2 production will have to slow down due to lack of Technetium-derived products, prices will go up, price of those components will go up, which in turn means price of nanos/fullerides will go up, which makes Technetium go up. _

Indeed as Akita says, not all the Tech moons are controlled by the NC. I know of at least one that's in Syndicate, that the corp I am a member of had brief control of. From what I heard it was about a 4bil/month income. But we moved out of that region and gave up (read: didn't bother fighting to defend it)

Considering that several PI products are components in t2 production it would naturally mean a decreased demand on those products and thus provide a partial explanation for the current slump.
