Is it possible to fill a year long skill plan consistently earning 2700sp/hour?

Yes. Just pick an attribute combination that covers a fair amount of skills. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

I wouldn't recommend doing a specialized re spec till you have at least a years worth of skills. having all your Gunnery/missile Ship skills maxed and no support skills, or the converse, would make for a frustrating experience for the 1st 18 months or so.
Get all your desired skills to lvl 4 plus prerequisites and rank 1/2's to 5 then consider a full respec' I had balanced stats for the 1st 3+ years then did 18 months of Int/Mem followed by my current 2 year Perc/Will spec.

Personally, I consider:
* under 2000 SP/hour to be poor * 2000 SP/hour to be okay * 2200 SP/hour to be average * 2500 SP/hour to be really good
Only my alts that rarely change skill plans are ever maxed at SP/hour.

Well only if you're training an alt and don't use it for a while...
When you make a char you have 2 remaps. Usually you respec and train int/mem support skills, you train cybernetics 1st then for +5s. Then after a while remap per/wil. You're close to 2,700 then (below until you have your +5s though).
The thing is that there's skills that aren't int/mem or per/wil like navigation, drones, t2 spaceship skills, weapon upgrades, leadership/social. I think it you have a yearly average of 2600 it's quite good.

Yes you can do it, however it is a bad idea to do during the first year unless it is an alt.
I have been min/maxing since the neural remaps were released, however you will get screwed now and then when you have to take some random skill to 4-5 that you aren't specced for.

Yes it's possible because I've done it and will continue for another year at least.
But as others have said, only possible because I am an alt and not being used at the moment.

Not quite 2700 as that requires +5's but this is what I do on all 3 of my characters.
For example my 5 yr old main is currently perc / will tidying up my gunnery, missile & spaceship command skills. After that's finished I'm gonna switch over to mem/intel to max out my drone skills.
My 3 yr old pvp alt is currently will / perc maxing every t2 ship skill. I decided to spend almost a year doing this with a bit of side time on leadership skills, though with a remap I got from CCP I won't have to spend a full year on this. Before I went this way I spent a year doing intel/mem and before that perc/will making sure I had all the prerequisite skills and good skills for basic combat.
Finally my 2+ yr old hauler/capital alt (this char) is currently maxed on intel/mem maxing every tank/cap/general skill, has already spent a year maxing just spaceship command skills (all freighters and minmatar bs 5 but no carriers/dreads). After I've finished this I'll switch to mem/intel and max all drone skills ready for capitals then I'll switch back to perc/will to max up all skills needed for carriers, after I'll start learning gunnery on the way up to dreads.... this means I won't have any gunnery skills on this character for the first ~4 years.
There have been plenty of times I've deviated from the training plan to get some skill that I forgot about or just wanted. However as I had all learning skills maxed on all 3 characters I have a lot of undistributed SP (about 11-12 mil between the 3 of them still) in waiting for something like this. Also helps that my main started out as a scatterbrain jack of all trades so can fill all sorts of different roles when needed. ------------------- piccy |

It would be very expensive on your PvP main, because of the cost of +5 replacement. If your main isn't PvP then sure it's possible if you've already had one to two year's generalist-attribute training first.

Yes, but only with careful planing and only once you have a good spread of skills already. I'd be interested to know if anyone has maintained max training speed for a whole year on anything other than Per/Will and Int/Mem maps (apart from specialist alts that aren't being used until 20, 30 or more mill SP)? |

I'm a month or so away from remapping to Will/Per for over a year. With Willpower as a primary you can do those (leadership) skills that have Willpower as a secondary, in addition to the t2 spaceship command skills (some trade skills too).

Speak for yourself; I maintained a Perc/Will training plan for about 19 months. Now I can use every T2 weapon, and almost every subcap PvP ship (Didn't bother with black ops, command ships), and that feels pretty good.
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |

Gonna go out on a limb and assume you spent a decent amount of time before that on int skills and mem (drone) skills, since otherwise you would only be able to "use" them in the technical sense that you meet the prerequisites to equip them.
Remember that the name of the character that started the thread is "EVE University Applicant", we can safely assume that the context here is someone a month or two old asking for advice, not someone who's been active since 2007 and already flying carriers and fully-t2/faction marauders around. ---
