Edited by: Seriphyn Inhonores on 29/04/2011 16:03:27 Urgh. "My proposal to relocate to the Federation" was actually a request for pilots from Electus Matari to join myself in seeing if folk could crack some skulls in the Gallentean warzone, given that the Caldari held on to all our systems; I wouldn't twist it beyond that.
My decision to leave RE-AW was the realization that the best way to get something done was to do it myself. And what happened? We reversed the entire situation. I quite enjoyed my time in RE-AW regardless, so not sure to why you're all so reactionary. ------------ Lum Gen Seriphyn Inhonores FDU Commanding Officer, Eleutherian Guard |

Originally by: Seriphyn Inhonores I don't doubt their loyalty to their organization, I'm just saying that a Gallentean heading a Minmatar organization is a bit disarming from someone outside this little clique going on here. The Republic was formed as a nation to represent the Minmatar people, correct? That's different from the Federation, whose specific goal is multiculturalism and multiracialism.
If anyone is "disarmed" by RE-AW having a non-Minmatar CEO, trust me, I know from personal experience (of the good kind, mind you!) that they are firstly very ignorant, and secondly, most likely in for a nasty surprise should they attempt to exploit that apparent weakness. If you trust me on nothing else, Seriphyn, trust me on this: Reawakened Technologies does not **** around. If they put Ciarente Roth in charge, they did it for a reason. ----- Andreus Ixiris CEO, Mixed Metaphor

Please, Seriphyn, don't try and take the moral high ground here. You made the observation knowing it would be interpreted as vaguely offensive by Reawakened Technologies and their friends (or else you're extremely naive). Whether you intended it to do so or not, attempting to blame others for this little discussion is disingenuous to say the least. ----- Andreus Ixiris CEO, Mixed Metaphor

Originally by: Seriphyn Inhonores Come on now, let's take yourself, and this is probably ad hominem, but I'm not university-educated, so it might be the wrong use of the term. You're an Achuran, so perhaps an ex-slave Minmatar would pose the question to you, "What do you know about the plight and suffering of our people?".
Ah. Good. I humbly thank you for producing an interesting question.
I trust you mean a hypothetical person in your scenario. I can understand someone may think such a question is asked if a sterile hypothetical environment existed.
However, years of direct experience in the reality of helping with matters - ranging from assisting Vitoc and Insorum research to passenger transport, rescue operations to overseeing teams add prefabs to repatriation centers for more housing space, combat operations to providing employment opportunities - have taught me that no person in such a circumstance has seemed to feel the need to ask me that. At the very least, no one has done it in three years. Perhaps it is felt I know because I can see and feel it.
There are questions, but they are much more pressing ones - such as what comes next, food, home, family. Sometimes, I cannot answer the questions I have been asked. As anywhere else in the cluster, there are problems that are outside of the ability of pilots to directly affect - the economy, governmental politics, ethnic or religious tensions, the list is a long one. For those questions, I can only say, "I do not know, but I will try to find someone who does."
It is something I have given my life for, more than once. I am a ghost; the woman who was born Kohiko Sun died early in my service to Re-Aw from the lasers of an Amarrian pilot on a raid. On one occasion, I have had crew ejecting from me as I tried to keep the reactor core from going critical until they were clear taken prisoner and sentenced to enslavement for the 'crime' of service to me and my corp - their current jailor is Laerise of PIE. For that, she remains the only person I would prefer to kill than to reason with; for that, I admit my failure in keeping them safe as the head of a family should. But, as you say, I am Achur; I understand the sacrifice of service, and so I remain a pilot of Re-Aw.
The only people who have ever asked me the question your hypothetical person has have been people such as you - unfortunately looking at someone's race as a universal measure of worth - or others seeking to find some way to discredit me in public for the sake of 'winning' something. So odd.

I assure you, General Inhonores, if we Minmatar, ex-slave or freeborn alike, felt the need to say anything to Kohiko or ReAw regarding her understanding of our plight, we would have.
Assuming you need to speak up for us is in fact bigoted. We have our own voices. We do not need yours speaking for us, least of all to our friends.

Seriphyn.... what is the point of your circular rambling and poking here about who leads Re-Aw and what they have said.
Is your point that unless Re-Aw is headed or spoken for by a Minmatar then we should sit still and do nothing of our own agendas? Or that it is ok for us to speak, as long as it comes from a Minmatar tongue? Or, and I suspect I am closer to the crux here, do you simply have no point other than hearing your own amused voice?
To all others, as a Re-Aw member, it does me good to see the genuine well wishing for our future path.

I have no idea why this announcement thread has proved so attractive to regressive federal-statists but must confess its quite amusing to see them splattering against the rhetorical windshield with such regularity.
On topic. Good luck to Re-Awakened Technologies as an independent corporation. Operating NRDS is a challenge for any organization and behaving with honour and courage in the exploration of the distant frontier all the moreso.
Fair skies.

Speaking for myself, I can assure I would rarely bite the hand that reaches out to pull me up in my time of need.
As a tried and true Matari, I believe anyone can fight for the freedom that all should have no matter their past. I would dare say that an Amarrian that raises his arms against his ancestorsÆ abhorrent practices, under the right circumstances, may fight with more fervor then the Matari that they align with.

Partings are always somber events, riddled with the overhanging shadow of "it could have been better".
Don't let that get to you. Keep pressing forward, toward whatever path you do find, whether those paths converge once more or you find yourselves flourishing in seperate, parallel paths. Regardless of which you take, I wish both Re-Aw and EM as a whole success in their endeavors.

Hello, Little Cousin. Always remember to bookmark the other side of the singularity inside W-space before warping off. Having to probe it down again while you watch ships named "We Know You're Here" move around on your directional scanner gives some incentive to refine your scanning technique quickly.

Among other things, that an official representative of the Knights of the Merciful Crown has declared support for the goals of Electus Matari, which include strengthening, developing and defending the Republic and advocating "the right of all Minmatar to live in freedom and according to the customs of their clan and tribe, including those currently in foreign captivity."
