Couple of questions about fleet boosting.
1) Assuming I form a fleet with 1 other person and set myself as the fleet booster, do I personally benefit from all my fleet boosting skills, or do only the other dude(s) receive the boost?
2) Same deal with Warfare Link mods when I turn them on.

Yes, you benefit, as long as there's at least one other person in the fleet. On both counts. __________________________________________________ Player Since 2005 Over 4000 hours logged

Actually, as long as the other person benefits, so do you. Which means you both must be undocked and in the same solar system. The fleet window has, in the upper left corner, either a green checkmark or a red x, and if you hover your mouse over it, it should say "Fleet bonuses active" or "fleet bonuses not active" or some such.

Yeah the thing you want to look out for there is who the booster is and who the SC is.
After some time ... they finally stopped making people Fleet Commanders by default and began making them Squad Commanders who were also the boosters by default. Since there are no boosts to anyone if there's not a Squad Commander you had to demote the Guy from Fleet Commander to Squad Commander. So that saves some time if you have your guy with all the leadership skills as the SC.
You don't have to do it that way though.
Anyone can be the SC and anyone can be the booster.
Now here - there are a few things about the SC that you need to think about. The SC is the one who can warp the whole squad - not the booster. So - say you have one guy running missions and the other guy is there to help - but it's the helper with all the Leadership skills ... .
The mission runner is the one who gets all the mission location bookmarks to warp to. So - it's easier if the guy running the mission is the SC - so he can warp the whole squad. Now - if he isn't the SC - then he can warp to the mission - and the rest of the squad can warp to him but then you don't have everyone coming in at the same time - if that is what you want.
So - you can have the mission runner invite the helper to Form Fleet with him - making the mission runner the SC. Then the mission runner/SC can right click on his own name in the Fleet Window - and select Revoke Booster. Then he can right click on the helper and select Set Squad Booster. That way - both people will benefit from the better leadership skills of the helper - but the guy running the mission can run the squad.
The little Star is the boss - he controls who can do what - but can also make someone else the boss. The little plus sign is the Booster. The little stripe is the Squad Commander.
You can have a different character play each role if you want to.
