For those of you currently using ET, simply start EVETycoon and the welcome center will provide you with patch notes and a link to the new installer/uninstaller.
There are LOTS of bug fixes, changes and improvements to this version, more that can be listed in a forum post.
You can view the recent changes here.
Of biggest note, ET now uses cache scraping graciously provided by the developers at NEMMS.com. We are still working with them on this technology, however it appears to be relatively stable and works well. The only difference between this version and previous versions of ET is that now, you won't have to keep exporting market orders from the client. You'll still have to import them into ET though.
To read more about how the cache sc****r works with ET, you can read about it at http://www.twistedvoid.com/ET3/Help/scrap-er.html without the dash.
Now that's funny. I tried to link to scrap-er.html, without the dash and it got kicked by the profanity filter. Nice one CCP.
Enjoy and I welcome your feedback.

First of all, ET doesn't automatically import these sc****d cache files, you have to do that yourself. At the bottom of ET is a new status bar with an icon. Beside the icon it will tell you the last file that was recognized by the sc****r and converted into a marketlog by ET. On the bottom right of ET will be a count of the number of files that the sc****r has produced and ET has converted that are YET to be imported into ET.
If the sc****r icon is green then it's active and working. If it's yellow then it's either processing a cache file or it's paused. If it's red, then the sc****r has encountered an error and ET has shut it down (you would have seen a popup notice of this).
Because of the way ET has worked with marketlogs for years, automatically importing sc****d cache files is unlikely to happen anytime in the near future. It's a lot easier for me to click the import button when I want to add the sc****d files rather than rewriting ET to do it automatically.
Check these things. If you're still not getting sc****d cache files, get with me in-game or via e-mail at my website and I'll definitely look into fixing the problem. EVETycoon Marketing, trading and reprocessing tool. |

Thanks for reply Mark.
I see NEMMS tray icon and it shows every item I search in Market. Inside EVETycoon I can see "Cache Monitorin: Active" (green colour) and it changes to yellow when NEMMS processes one market item from cache. After that, it changes to green colour again and no item is processed: "Cache Processed: " and "No new cache file to import"
I will contact you in-game

If you would, go to my website at http://www.twistedvoid.com and you'll find my e-mail there. Contact me that way.
I just looked over the code and I have an idea of what MIGHT be happening. One of the problems I had initially with the sc****r is that ET was able to detect a new file had been created by the sc****r before it was finished writing it. I had to build a delay into the process and then validate the cache file to make sure it was complete. If it doesn't look like a valid file or the sc****r doesn't get time to finish writing to it, ET thinks it's corrupt, deletes it and waits for the next one. I put a 2 second delay in the process before ET validates the cache file. If you have a particularly slow machine, you're running a lot of apps accessing the hard drive and/or if there's a LOT of buy/sell orders, it may take the sc****r longer than 2 seconds to complete the cache file and cause all of the cache files to appear corrupt to ET and would produce the exact results you're seeing.
I have a relatively fast machine and hard drive and it never occurred to me that it might take longer than 2 seconds. What I'd like to do is build a version for you to test where there's a longer delay and see if that fixes the problem.

I'm experiencing the same problem. It managed to scr-ape two cache files, both had 0 sell and 0 buy orders. I looked at the "Time taken" in the NEMMS application. The two successful scr-apes took 1.8 and 2.3 seconds. There were other orders that were scr-aped faster, so if it was a timing problem you'd expect those to be processed correctly as well.

Thanks for these details. This lets me know that at least in your case, it probably is a timing issue. We just tested it with a 10 second delay and that still didn't solve the problem. If you'd contact me via e-mail at my website, I'll add you into the testing process so that when I do come up with a working theory, you'll get a close beta copy to test.

Thanks to a lot of hard testing by Plim Plam, we've tracked the bug down where it's not recognizing the cache files. Apparently the sc****r isn't internationalizing it's numbers.
US and UK style numbers look like this: 1,000.00 Some European countries write numbers like this: 1.000,00
While ET recognizes and works with international numbers, it's now apparent the sc****r does not. A normal market log has 15 fields each separated by a comma. The sc****r is also creating marketlogs separated by a comma. The problem is, it's also passing the decimal separator as a comma. This means that ET expecting 15 fields and is finding more. When it does, it considers the file to be corrupt and ignores it.
Therefore, the sc****r, for now, isn't going to work in countries where the decimal separator is a comma.
I've shot off a mail to the developer of the sc****r and hopefully, we'll have a fix in the near future. EVETycoon Marketing, trading and reprocessing tool. |

Plim Plam just confirmed this as being the problem. He went into his control panel under Clock, Language and Region / Change Location / Fromats / Additional settings and switched his decimal and thousands separators around. He informs me that the sc****r and ET are now working as intended.
Though this works for him, I'm not going to recommend you do so unless you're prepared for potential consequences with other Windows software. Just letting you know that a temporary, unsanctioned fix does exist. EVETycoon Marketing, trading and reprocessing tool. |

I was working on the latest version of EVETycoon today when I got surprise word of the dev blog regarding licensing. While CCP has basically backed off of this this for now I have decided to support the weekend shutdown of 3rd party apps none the less as that protest is also against microtransactions which I STRONGLY oppose. I will be supporting this by removing EVETycoon's online help files for the weekend and posting a notice in ET's welcome center.
With this in mind, CCP will no doubt eventually come up with some license scheme and ET will most likely be forced to purchase such a license as it uses information from the data dump as well as the API. In order to help me plan for this eventual future and help you decide which way ET should go, I've placed a poll on ET's website. I'd like to invite the users of ET to quickly visit the site and take the poll.
As always, your comments and suggestions are welcome. EVETycoon Marketing, trading and reprocessing tool. |

EVETycoon 3.2.2 Released
Patch Notes for ET 3.2.2
- Unscrewed CCP's royal idiocy of whacking a field out of the middle of My Orders and Corp Orders export files.
ET now looks at My Orders and Corp Orders export files and counts the number of fields (which it did in the past and is why it wasn't loading them because the field count was off) and if it finds they contain one less field than old versions, it completely rewrites the file to contain the PROPER number of fields. Rather than rip all of the code apart trying to shorten calculations by one field, it was easier and more expedient to simply re-create the My Orders and Corp Orders they way they were prior to Incarna. Note: if they should decide to 'fix' this and restore the field, ET should work with either 'version' of the export files.
- Fixed Profit Analyzer to clear it's cache when changing regions.
Previously, the Profit Analyzer wouldn't clear it's cache of data when changing regions and thus, not allow the newly selected region to be analyzed. Hopefully, this is fixed.
- ET now properly reads sc****r exports in countries where the "," is the decimal separator.
However, read the next note.
- ET now checks for sc****r errors more frequently.
The sc****r hasn't worked since Incarna and I'm awaiting word from Nemms on a patch. ET will now properly detect when the sc****r errors out and shut it down. Previously, it would appear to be running yet not do anything.

For now, I'm just going to keep going with ET the way it is. With 40 votes on the website and the majority saying keep it donation ware (no I'm not doing open source, my ego is way too big for that) that's what I'll do for now.
However, should some license scheme come into play, that opens a whole new can of worms and things may change. All I can say is stay tuned.
I'll try to keep it updated and fix things that CCP keeps breaking until I can't afford to.

I have just stumbled across this tool and it looks interesting to say the least.
Am I right in thinking until the scarper is running correctly then it won't be able to process stuff from the markets? |

So am I correct in thinking you still have to pick 'item x' from the market and export the data individually for ET to give you the profitability? I guess from one of your other posts there is no way to export the full market data as one file as you would with a single product? Still useful don't get me wrong I like this program(it's identified a couple of my trades which were actually selling at a loss!) but a fiddle to use to quickly scan for a good opportunity...
Cheers YN
So for the profit finder to work I think then I have to do this on both ends of the haul trade route.
For example, if I am thinking of trading something between systems (a) and (b) and am interested in items A-Z then I will have to browse in (a) all A-Z items, hitting export for each one. Then I would have to go to system (b) and so the same thing there again. After that I would import stuff into EveTycoon with that button top left and then it would all comes in and show me what's what.
Have I got this right?
Furthermore, are we waiting for those chaps to fix the scarper for post-Incarna tool so that we don't have to do the manual export from the Market Display window for each item?
I think that I understand how this works but I would like clarification in case I am doing something stupid and wrong (not entirely impossible).
Anyway, this looks a fantastic applicaation, tusen takk for det. |

Edited by: Miss Rabblt on 10/07/2011 09:57:10 Edited by: Miss Rabblt on 10/07/2011 09:55:51 have it just downloaded and installed.
1. It can't do privilege escalation. So you have trouble with installing it "just after downloading" by pressing button in Chrome.
2. After installing it to non-system folder (folder with public access) i've got setup dialog. Filled it by information. And after last window closed got it restarted again. Closed this time with "cancel" and got warning message.
3. Client wasn't able to start with many error messages.
4. Next start -> new setup dialog. Filled it with info and pressed "Finish". Got error message: EMM.exe "no export files found at: <the DOS-ified path to my Eve market logs>". Pressed "Ok". Got new error messagebox "Et3: No marketlogs exports detected". Little confusing :)
5. I see NEMMS Cache scrapper running. However i have this option disabled.
Ok. This time it started. Will try to use.
Continue: 1. Entered full API. Have chosen character. Pressed "Ok". BOOM. "Et3: Access violation at address........". However program is still running. 2. Second try to get account information. Api is saved, list of chars appeared. Go. And it succeded. :) |

G'day - just gave this one a shot to see how it went.
NEMMS Sc****r is confirmed as not working. Errors out after a couple of unsuccessful cache reads.
EVE API import function also not working. No data is retrieved, and the error message 'Error retrieving user data from the registry' comes up whenever I try to manage the accounts entered.
Manual cache import works well.
Bravo on a solid program even with these minor issues.
