I'm starting up a paying fight arena in Emrayur. Here is a little info for it.
Arena Rules: 1. There will be no outside influence during the battles. If so, action will be taken to stop the interference and if a fighter is involved, they will be penalized. 2. Any attempt to rig a fight will be very visible, and punished by a removal of any reward to the fighters and return of all bets to any observers. 3. Only rookie ships may be used, although players may fit it with any mods they can get on the ship, and any drones. There is no restriction on the skill level and age of characters playing. This is for anyone who wants to fight.
Procedure to start a battle: 1. Both players, to even get their ship, should have a unit of tritanium. They will fly to roughly 30km away from eachother, jettison the tritanium, and trade positions. 2. To begin, they both flip the opponents can, and wait for a signal from the referee to begin the match. 3. Battles will be decided when one player is either destroyed, or retreats. Podkilling is a non-issue, as there really isn't a feasable way for a rookie ship to take out a pod before concord comes. On that note, pleast make sure to correctly do the can flip, or concord will interfere.
Some additional info: Battles will be paid out to the winner based on the amount that the player bet. A percentage of any observer bets will be taken so that running the arena can be continued, and a marginal amount will also be taken from the prize pool to assure this. 10% of total amount bet by both players, the rest goes to the winner. Each bet by observers will be payed out based on the type of bet.
I will likely need to have both players give me a fitting of their ships for reference, but I'm not terribly worried about how fair the fight is. They're rookie ships, it's pretty hard to make it really one-sided.
Please stop by my chat channel, Battle Badgers, to take a look. You may also reply here too. I'd appreciate it if people took an interest in this combat arena, and I'm more than happy to hear any ideas. Thanks for reading, and I hope you find an interest.

Thanks for taking interest. I'd be glad if people viewing could mention this to friends, either if you take interest or contacts you have might. The faster I have a decent audience and a fighter or two, the faster I can get this up and running.

I'm quite interested in participating in such a tournament. I also have a channel I use for 1v1 rookie ship fights ( 1v1 Rookie Ship ). I checked out the Battle Badgers channel, but nobody was online. Convo me or send me a mail if you want to work something out together.

Is this still on, or did it die out?

I am disappointed. I thought from the title that it would be people flying badgers fighting each other. That I would pay to see.
