I'm trying to link 2 input silos to a simple reaction array. I get the whole right side = outputs leftside = inputs and that one clicks and drags them to link them. For some unknown reason my input silos are red/are not feeding the reactor even though they have correct/sufficient material, are online and are linked (only the outputs, the inputs are unlinked). oh and i have hit the apply button plenty of times. Any ideas as to what i'm doing wrong?

The colors on the processes page are for clarity only. They have no meaning.
If you look real closely, you will notice there are actually two slightly different reds.

Well this is really starting to get annoying. The whole POS management couldn't be any less intuitive. Anyway - Does there need to be a minimum amount of material in the silos? (I have 20 cycles worth in each) - What is the max distance they can be from each other? (they are all within a couple hundred meters of each other) - Does one need to online them in any particular order? - Does one online first or link them up first? - Can one manually put a bunch of materials into silos and then let them feed the reactor (i.e. no input into silos)?
atm my silos are saying "is online can feed and receive stuff" and the reactor is saying "online- starting up, this reactor is online and will become active when it is supplied with all reagents that it requires". Is there a super secret button that tells the silos to actually start f'ing feeding to the reactors? Any suggestions would be welcome |

Oh and what exactly does the reload button do? |

Agreed. CCP emplyed the person who wrote this sign Linkage to do the design.
Anyway - Does there need to be a minimum amount of material in the silos? (I have 20 cycles worth in each) There has to be a minimum of 1 cycle of every single material for it to start. It doesn't matter if you have the 1 cycle of material A and 20 cycles of material B, it'll still start.
- What is the max distance they can be from each other? (they are all within a couple hundred meters of each other) Distance does not matter except for ease of use when you refill the silos. Anywhere on the POS works just fine.
- Does one need to online them in any particular order? No
- Does one online first or link them up first? Doesn't matter but the traditional way is to set all the silo types, link them, fill them then online them. You MUST set the silo type before you fill it and you MUST fill it before you online it. Other than that it doesn't matter.
- Can one manually put a bunch of materials into silos and then let them feed the reactor (i.e. no input into silos)? I don't understand this question. Putting things into the silo and letting the silo feed the reactor is the ONLY way it works. (If you are using silos to feed it rather than a moon miner)
atm my silos are saying "is online can feed and receive stuff" and the reactor is saying "online- starting up, this reactor is online and will become active when it is supplied with all reagents that it requires". Watch This video at 3:25 the linking is done. That video tells you that some things have to be done in a certain order, it's not 100% correct, you can do some of them in other orders but if you follow that video you will not go wrong. Once you have more experience you can work out which bits you can reorder.

There will be a delay until that time the stations draws more fuel, basically. Leave it be and check in a hour. It should, if done right, now show "Online - Active".
Here... this may help:
