Thus, the whiners, in their unwillingness(inability?) to metagame the MIMAFers, fall into the same mental trap the MIMAFers themselves are in, just one "cognitive leap" higher. Delicious irony.
Agreed, and very eloquently put.
Given the numbers of Command Centres being bought in the sever regions I frequent, there are a number of players still entering the PI arena.
Some command centres will be being shipped to distant markets for resale, but I think most will be destined for immediate plonking down on a planet and doing useful stuff (TM).
Thus with more new planets being exploited, you'd classically expect supply to increase and thus the prices to drop.
And drop they should.. its crazy to think that a year ago, Robotics cost a mere fraction of the 55,000+ ISK they do now.
If Eve was indeed real, all the POS towers would have decks of Minmatar slaves pedalling furiously, long before the owner would pay the over-inflated prices for POS fuel...

Ah..... This is me. I have everything that I used to build my PI stuff on the back of the envelope my water bill came in.
Ok, my initial plan was written on the water bill itself and I did scan every planet near home and wrote the top three P0 densities down on 2 sheets of paper. Still, my choice of what and why I do what I do is on that water bill envelope.

Then serve me up a double helping of delicious irony.

Edited by: Kudlow N''cramer on 13/05/2011 11:27:34 I like "MIMAF as a curse word" people. They get the mission isk to buy my stuff.
As someone whose main focus is PI, I'm prepared for PI fuel prices to drop another 75-100%. However, P1's will always stay elevated above blueprint production costs due to the premium they have from being a pain to transport out of 0.0 and low sec. They will always be easy isk, just not a lot of isk.

Extra history Irony was that MIMAF has been often enough how RL business was done with so called "uncivilized" or "barbaric" people in the past until some became organized(i.e. opec).

If some has his own POS and buys stuff to fuel it, he's dumb.
If one can't make profits with PI he's too lazy to look at POS fuel requirements and build the juicy stuff.

I typically haul P1 out of w-space once a month, and refill the P2 factory planets daily (they are not in my home system). All trips are done using a Charon freighter, which isn't exactly a speed demon. While the freighter is traveling, I'm restarting extractor cycles and such.
I earn about 20 million per hisec factory planet per day, so currently about 100 million/day with P2. It takes about 30-45 minutes of my time a day.

Originally by: Greg Huff Oh, please do tell... Exactly what is your time worth? What is your billable hourly rate while playing a game? What exactly is your break even point for P1 materials?
(Note that I never stated I didn't value my time or that I didn't account for operational cost)
In US Dollars, each day is worth around $.49.
If Plex is around 320mil, each day of PI in order to make plex must NET 10.7mil isk.
I spend 45 minutes/day hauling, launching, picking up and setting up market orders.
I react 5 planets with materials purchased from the market and net/net around 400mil/mo.
IOW, approx. 96% return on time investment. Plex made and 100mil isk in the pocket free and clear.

This right here is why the price is crashing. Not that it wasn't expected.
