which moons are the worst of the worst have little to no value and are basically unwanted this is the moon I'm looking for so I can set up a POS as moon mining is something I plan not to do. |

There is no moon mining in high sec so the type of moon is irrelevant. Manly, the importance is going to be its location to a large market such as Jita. |

Ahhhh, and I want to be far far very far from Jita, so guess that can be done. |

Well although there is no moon mining in high sec, there are some players that hold high sec moons with good resources on the off chance that some day high sec moon mining will be put into game. I don't see it ever happening myself.
Many players feel given the choice of moons in a high sec system why not place it at a good moon just in case?
Personally it is not worth the cost and bother of scanning the moons to even find out what materials they have. There are far more important factors to consider when finding a moon in high sec.
Proximity to Jita is the single most important factor. After that would be stations available in system, and what services they offer, and last, but certainly not least (actually #1 for me) cost of renting an office in said system. I actually found a high sec system with 10,000isk/month office rental once.
What materials a moon has will have zero impact on the chances of getting war deced by someone who wants your moon in high sec. |

right about war dec but as I am seeking places most won't bother with exactly how you describe system with no stations not close to any trading hubs nothing but worthless real estate for the most part. and if they want the moon so what, just move away and let them deal with all the logistical troubles, and maybe they will leave for greener pastures. |

In my experience what you are speaking of would put you in the safest possible position in EVE. generally a back water high sec system far from Jita with no stations will not draw attention from anyone no matter what you are doing.
The only possible risk I can see is if there are any other locals they might attack you just out of boredom as there is nothing else to do out there other than mining, exploring, or possibly lvl 4 missions, but you need a station for that. If it is for exploration you are locating your operation out there you should have little competion for sites, although most high sec sites are not worth much.
If you are looking for a WH to a W-space system with a high sec static just keep in mind that just because it was linked to a back water system when you found it, does not mean the next static will not be to a system next door to Jita. Exits are completely random. |

By the time you reach 4 jumps from a trade hub, there are plenty of empty moons.
If you are in the same region as a trade hub, you can also do remote trade. |

Quick heads up on the 'no stations' part.
If you stick up labs in a system with no stations there is a good chance that anyone who happens to pass by will consider deccing you simply to see what pops out of those labs as there is no station to keep the bpo's safe. |

You forgot the empty moons. There are a good number of moons that do not have any minerals to mine. EvE: Everyone vs Everyone

Yeah, most people in high sec will see a lab up and decide to war dec, wait 24 hours, then POS bash, wait on reinforcement and destroy it on the offchance it drops something ... oh wait, no they won't.

meh, if that happens they will be wasting isk and time, I could care less just unachor and no pos to bash, they want that cheap real estate go for it, I got ore and minerals to last weeks and if I want to just play trader for a while I'm boring I use almost all T-1 mods and ships, nothing to get. |

Highsec its easy, go few jumps out of any tradehubs. Plenty of moons empty. Also make sure you have corporate office in system so bpos are safe. My alt corp has small research pos 7+ jumps away from tradehub, tons of empty moons in nearby systems... [Insert something funny or smart here] |

Interesting. I did not know that. Malcanis' Law: Any proposal justified on the basis that "it will benefit new players" is invariably to the greater advantage of older, richer players.

Speaking of labs I have the basic lab up and running just haven't figured out how to make it worthwhile at the momentfor I got one BPO I'm doing ME on but that's it, guess I could do invention then make copies of what may pop out. |
