Just posted this in petition...told to repost here cause I was told devs check this stuff....
Hi,
Just wanted to put out my concern over the new agent changes taking effect this week. Firstly, I think the simplification of the agent system will be a great change, and I am looking forward to it. However, regarding Sisters of Eve (SOE), there will now be only 1 "encounter" agent available in high sec space, and only 2 available in low sec space. Currently, there is a large mission hub in Gicodel with the level 4 agent Inesmir Jimud that many players use as their "home base", and run MANY group fleet missions from that location.(I am one of them)
.....might I suggest retaining this agent as an "encounter" agent, thus providing players with 2 high sec level 4 agents? (both agents would be around 20 jumps apart), and possibly moving 1 of the 2 low sec agents (to another low sec sys or high sec sys) as they are both level 4, and are located in the same system ( Aeschee) and same station (Aeschee moon 20)
Thank you for your time,
AX

Please read the dev blog; CCP addresses your concern about agent location to a degree.

read it.... but it does not address my concern..... the agent in the sys mentioned was an encouter courier agent... will now become solely courier.... 1 encounter in hi sec and 2 in low blows :)

From dev blot: "Now, all agents in the game will have an effective quality of both -20 and +20: That is, in terms of calculating access to an agent based on your standings with his or her corporation, the system will assume that all agents are quality -20, making them (in some cases, considerably) easier to access; and at the same time, every agent will pay out rewards as if he or she had a quality of +20, meaning all agents of the same level within the same system security level (e.g., 0.6) will pay out the same amount for similar missions - and in most cases, they will pay out somewhat more than they used to."
I LOLed. They could just say: All agents will be available to everyone. All agents will pay out top reward amount for their level. Was that so hard? Two sentences. Geez!
I am beginning to see why people started to say a couple of years ago that the game is going downhill.

Youll still need around 6 standing to be able to acces lvl 4 agents in the first place, not sure where you got the idea that all agents are available for everyone xD

I see what you mean. I would start with Level 1 Quality -20 agent, build up standing and move on to Level 2 Quality -20 agent, then move to Level 3 Quality -20 agent and then finally arrive to Level 4 Quality -20 agent.

It seems likely to me that CCP knows that it will be harder to grind LP for certain corps because of this change (your issue with Gicodel), and intends this to be the case. Some corps will lose all highsec encounter agents; in that case you have a choice of grinding a lot to get LP for that corp, or running encounters in lowsec. More risk, more reward.
But Sisters isn't one of those cases; there will still be one highsec encounter agent, which everyone who wants to grind for the Sisters LP store will be using. Sounds like a good place for some ninja salvaging, eh?

Exactly. Itll still require work to be able to acces the agents, but its going to be alot easyer to get your own standing up to be able to do missions for a certain corp as there is no need to move agents to the highest quality available anymore.

Basically,
L1 agents: Access to all at anytime. L2 agents: Need 1,0+ agent, corp or faction standing L3 agents: Need 3,0+ agent, corp or faction standing L4 agents: Need 5,0+ agent, corp or faction standing L5 agents: Need 7,0+ agent, corp or faction standing
The rule about not having either agent, corp or faction standing -2,0 or lower is still in effect.
This also means that it's possible to get high enough faction standings to pretty much have access to every single L4 agent in high sec. With some work and the Faction Standing Repair Plan, having a 5+ with all the empire factions is doable. Just have to be a little picky with the missions and decline those against the other factions, but once the standings are all 5+, just don't ever do a storyline mission again (only epic arcs), and as long as corp and agent standings stay above -2 it's all good. That is, if all you want is access to missions.

Hmmm very interesting.
This does imply that also all R&D Agents are now Q20 and pay out maximum/equal points. If that is true i no longer need my lowsec R&D agents any more, since the points only depent on the effective quality and skills, correct? Also it is getting a bit easier to get access.
For the most part i like the changes. But not only is there only one L4 SOE highsec combat agent, but as far as i am informed only one for core complexion as well. So if you want to boost your minmatar R&D standings with combat missions there is only one choice. Ah well...i guess this wont be a large problem.

I noticed this too. And the last remaining high sec L4 SOE combat agent agent is in ... wait for it... The Forge!!!
Also there are some corps that will now have no hi-sec level 4 combat agents at all.
Hopefully CCP will tweak agent locations a bit. I think they could add PR agents to Security; that would fix SOE.

I was happy doing level4 kill missions for Astral Mining, since their stations are near but not in a hub solar system. Very profitable.
Suddenly, Astral Mining have only one level 4 "security" agent, next door with 0.4.......

CCP wanted us to spread out to make misions, do not collapse the hubs etc etc. I did, before the patch, I decided to work for a corp wich is not Federation Navy, or Spacelane Patrol or etc etc...
And now I am ****ed, so I can't do level 4 missions anymore until I grind standings from almost 0.
Nice...

Originally by: Shandir Will the agent quality change be affecting R&D agents also?
(And this is something I probably should know, but I'm asking anyway) Does effective quality 20>40 continue to give bonuses on the same scale as (-20) > 20?
Yes, this applies to RnD agents as well.

Residing next to low/null does not necessarily mean for an agent to also send you there. I just finished a round of missions with such an agent and never had to go to adjacent lowsec.

Not what the post was saying... it stated that with the changes, the once level 4 combat agent is now a courier agent, and the only level 4 combat agent left actually resides in low sec.....
Also, it is "good" to see that there are issues regarding other corps as well, so maybe devs will take notice
And the final agent for SOE is in the Forge??? Cause that makes sense ???
Cool that the R&D is included...
On the whole, I think this a positive change, but will require some tweaking in order to get it right...here's hoping they tweak

Me needs help in understanding Jar Jar Binks' development on missions:
1) My number of skills get reduced, well small cleanup in skill overview, nothing special having 1-2 skills less besides the 20 useless skills i have allready
2) Kill agent give kill missions: Hip Hip hooray no more mining which means less waiting 4 hours to continue, big thumb up!
3) Quality is not important anymore, but system sec is still? What about my standing to the corp or agent?? My interpretation is that i need to move on to a "low" highsec system with 200+ other smart isk grinders. Moving a hub to a different location? Well just move the agent, it's easier.
Except point 2) the changes seem somehow uninteresting. And hmm I understood the old system quite well with help of the community, the devs did'nt understand their own system? Tbh i am confused and I got the feeling that i may not get the points correct.
Oh mighty Eve forum, enlighten me with your wisdom

This, all agents are the same they just have different avatars. Welcome to dumb game mechanics.

win some lose some i guess. I found a system with 3 l4 agents, one was accounting. I used to run the 2 admins, and then wait for the accounting to gove me a farmable combat mission.
Now Ill have 2 agents that always give combat and 1 that will never. However, I will have access to more combat missions than before.
As far as SOE, I hear ya. The market fluctuates, I have got 3k lp off them, but sometimes its only worth 2k.
The problem with them isn't that the players all hogg the agents, its that the bots hogg the lowsec courier agents. Thats what kills the LP conversion. We shall see what happens to the LP value, if it goes up after the patch due to less players doing SOE, or if the bots will keep the LP low. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.
