Hey guys, I am a kinda new player, just coming back this week from about a year off, and I just learned about the change to Learning skills. This is really cool and all, but now I don't know what I should spend these points on!
I want to start pvping with my corp, and I can fly a Drake, but probably not entirely fitted correctly. What are some general skills I should pump these points into, or some specific ones that would help a new pvper out? Thanks for any help!

You can start training the recommended certificates for the drake until someone with a better answer comes along.

If you do not really need anything now, keep them.
Sooner or later you will realise what you need, and if the needed skill will not be in your remap you will be able to spend the SP without wasting training time. _______________________ The best thing in EvE is Barrage M. |

Edited by: Chinwe Rhei on 18/05/2011 05:32:02 Put it all in skills that you want but take forever. Like for example Racial Cruiser 5, or Medium Guns 5. Nothing sucks more than staring at those months-long skills and once you get them it really feels like a whole new level.

Those aren't long skills... carrier or dreadnaught 5 take forever

A good alternative is to put the points into skills that dont match your current stat spec, and ideally skills that wont match a stat spec you are ever likely to have.
A good example is drone skills. For about 1.2M SP you can get T2 light & medium drones, with all support skills at 4. For Caldari ships, this will probably be all you really need until you start considering capital ships (or start training another race, of course, and even then it should carry you through until you train another race's battleships).
Drone skills are Memory/Perception - this spec doesn't match any other skills. Unless you're going to be a miner, you're unlikely to train many other skills with Memory as the primary stat.
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |

The entire industry tree is Memory/Intelligence, not just the mining skills. The entire Corp Management tree is Memory/Charisma. Not a lot of SP there, but Anchoring V and Starbase Defense Management IV are very nice if you ever need to defend a POS.
