How's this for an idea? that nifty little avi we built at the beginning of the game what if we could walk around all your planets and all your ships collecting skills and bits and chunks and blueprints to build a completely custom Mech that would tie to no old ideas including mechWarrior or anything else licenced by wizards of the coast and the whole time they are building this mech they are learning how to pilot her how to move 10 20 30 50 100 tons of scrap metal below them hurling toward another 100 tons of scrap metal with a Pilot just as scared that something could go wrong and then it does! now this tiny little pilot has to leave the cockpit to go crawling about in this hundred tons of scrap to fix the problem and make it back to her seat in time for the next blow or swing or imagine this: a Pilot that is very well Physically fit a small suit of armor would better suit these pilots because now that same 100 tons of scrap hurling toward the city is being picked apart piece by piece 10 or 20 tiny little robot pilots ripping things off here and there as they move up it's body toward the cockpit where the Pilot lay practically defenseless behind a few inches of "40 yr old bullet proof Glass" if you have interest in taking a branch of the game this way I'm full of Ideas and would love to share more just send me an E-mail at [email protected] thanks for your interest and comments sincerely, Jerry |

Try some punctuation next time... like a 'full stop'.

The phrase "wall of text" comes to mind here...

Reasons I hate mechs:
1) giant target - I don't care how good defenses you have 100 tons of a machine standing upright is just too easy to hit.
2) walking ? what's up with that - it's not like there's the wheel invented or anything...
3) melee combat? It's just like bringing a knife to a gun fight.
FFS if you want metal figures with swords why not just have a medieval knight game.
Also there's a eve-online mech version already - it's called perpetuum online: you can see it here

this.
tactically and strategically speaking, giant bi-pedal machines aren't really that good.
at most, power armours/exoskeletons. (from RP fluff, MTACs) ---

the whole Point of my Idea is not the Mech itself. but everything that comes with building it from absolutely Nothing! kinda like tony stark did the ironman suit in the Movie. it doesn't have to be 50, or 100 TONS you could use Composite metals molded Parts configure the thing how you want it. I agree who wants to be out there in the middle of a battle field in a 100 ton walking tin can with a big ass gun? you would make one hell of a target. but I mean learning to Pilot the thing skill by skill taking on missions on foot. then building up a Merc Unit, and then getting hired by a Corp.. then getting greedy and taking over that corp and expanding, then takeing over a planet...I mean like I said it was just a thought. sorry no one liked it. it was just a thought on another angle to the entire Universe you already have built here, which is excellent already.

You would probably get a better response if you divided your text into something readable. Also, mechas are a terrible idea.

You might get positive responses if you actually made it readable. I took the time to decipher what you wrote, and all I came out with was some jumble about planets, scrap metal, and something about wizards. Also your personal email. Bad idea.
Anyway, if you want mechs, go play Perpetuum Online.
And go back to English class. There's a small concept of a 'full stop' it makes your paragraphs look a bit better. There's also a return button. Notice my post only has 1-2 lines, then a space.
It makes it readable. -------------------

Remember, there is a difference between Battlemechs, and Japanese "Mecha"
Battlemechs are realistic and awesome, and are often described as walking tanks Japanese Mecha are lame, stupid, and often look like dancers wearing slippers.
The term "Mecha" is actually Japanese for "Toaster", but it became imporperly used
I prefer Battlemechs more than anything else. Like the stuff in MechWarrior. ________ Posters for EVE |

In addition to all of the good points above:
The original rights to MechWarrior belongs to FASA and now belong (IIRC) to Catalyst Game Labs.
The rights to any and every computer game involving the original FASA IPs belong to Microsoft.
Any attempt to make something "like MechWarrior" could be seen as an infringement on those rights and Microsoft certainly have the power to test that supposition. --
