Edited by: Whiff on 21/05/2011 16:51:39 Windows 7 Creative soundblaster X-fi
Everything cranked up and every game / app /system sound is very loud however eve is too quiet. I've fiddled with about everything in windows I can think of (yes ingame audio maxxed out) but zilch. Eve is the only code on my PC that stays too low.
I've externally deleted the cache but am loth to delete my settings file. I'm hoping somewhere in the settings file there is an default audio value that I can bump up.
Any ideas would be very greatful

I'm also experiencing the same issue. I noticed that the Sisi client doesn't have the same problems.
I've also tried all of what you did with no results. I hope the next patch fixes it? Heh.

I tried reinstalling Eve and that didn't work either.
My SiSi client doesn't have this problem so there's something definitely going on with the TQ client. I'm not sure if it's on my end or if it's a client bug. I'd think the former.
Have you found anything more out, Whiff?

Edited by: Whiff on 25/05/2011 18:55:43 Hi Rune - Was about to reinstall Eve but as you've already done this I think I'll hold off till the next patch.
Either it's server side or a weird glitch with the Creative drivers I don't know - Still maxxed out sound in windows sound control panel and within Eve. Everyother game /app /media player is playing sounds at the acceptable level.
I think perhaps reinstalling Windows 7 could be a possiblity; somethings gone out of kilter, but it's weird that you have the same problem but on the test server your sound is fine.
Will wait n see

Edited by: Ganthrithor on 01/07/2011 20:33:29 Necroing this thread to say I'm having the same problem on all my clients-- Windows volume is turned up + sound is fine in all other programs, but even with all the volume sliders in EVE maxed out the EVE sound is barely audible.
Can't figure out what the hell's going on.
I, too, am using an X-fi (the "extreme music" one). My drivers are fairly recent, but the problem with the EVE sound is more recent than my latest driver update, so I'm thinking it's something specific to EVE.

Thanks for reposting this. I was having the same problem in Windows 7 and it was driving me nuts. I never noticed that different apps could have different volume levels in the mixer.
