I believe this is the "off topic" forum section you are looking for. To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

Indirectly, a lot.
A great deal of our science-fiction tropes first appeared or were popularized on Star Trek -- the concept of 'warp drive', the idea of a computerized display device that 's thinner than a paperback (which evolved first into PDAs, then into tablets and smartphones, and then into the idea of EVE's data-pad). Even Sansha's Nation has echoes of the Borg, with their interconnected community.
EVE owes a lot of its concepts to early science-fiction, but Star Trek in particular brought many science-fiction elements to the forefront and allowed them to flourish. |

I am not sure. The Trek version was just cover over the device itself. The mobile phones have a useful device in the cover (upper half) and in the lower half.
The similarity is there, but I think it is more conceptual. From practical point, modern phones got more stuff going on. Life is short and dinner time is chancy Eat desert first! |
