I'm pretty sure that small bit if just the minmatar feel. Once the other stations are out go dock up in an ammar or caladri station and feel the light
I am pretty sure it isn't.
It rather looks like some light sources are applied to walls - but not onto faces.
One thing is being dark in general, and another thing is to have a dark cartoonish face.

Not a fan of the login screen. The focus of Incarna should be characters. Please tell me some characters will be in there.
This is a good example of something you've (CCP) already done that is in better taste.
edit: Also I'd like to see more descriptive anti-aliasing options come back. Which one is 4x MSAA? I don't know now.

Fair enough. And graphics glitches aside, it will at least tell you whether or not your system will give you some kind of frame rate that, at some point in the future, will be somewhat acceptable, or if it's time to start shopping around for new hardware because even a 200% improvement on 1 FPS won't get you anywhereà
Originally by: Davelantor ALL remodeled ..

That's probably because adding in launchers would require a complete rework of all missile-capable ships and of missiles themselves: adding mounting points (both in the code and in the models), adding spawn locations for the missiles; creating all the graphical assetsà it's seems like a fair amount of work to do. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Originally by: MotherMoon are turrets bugged? it's reall lame how they stay out 24/7
Sometimes they retract. They seem to stay out if you warp after jumping into a new system.
If you align to something first, and after the ship is fully decloaked, then when entering warp, the ship will pull in turrets, and pop them out when exiting warp.
it's just a glitch, try it yourself, and bug report it if you can get it to reproduce consistently. _________________________________________

Edited by: Don Pellegrino on 27/05/2011 21:44:57 I just tested it out on Duality and I really need to say this:
Unless you make it so that the pose when taking the portrait is saved, changing any clothing will be very frustrating and probably too much effort for a lot of people.
I would like an answer if possible..

Ive done some of the NPE. A few notes:
After undocking in my pod, I don't remember anything telling me how to warp, or how to find where to warp to. A new player may well not even know the ship warps! All this stuff did show up for the second NPE mission, a little late. After going to the cargo platform, nothing told me what to look for (a little diamond icon) how to open it, or how to move the item to my hold. |

Flashing hexagonal grid on side displays (Corp and PI interfaces) is extremely offensive to the eyes. Just remove flashes completely. Character walking when I stopped move. It should really stop where I left it... Character walk in place when double-click commanded to go to... far, far away. (Oh, and did I said that double-click move command is bad?) Ship flying around while docked looks really, really stupid. Overall, my awatar looks like clueless idiot... Walks like it got all the universe weight on it's shoulders, scratching head like forgot to put in a brain... And look straight like there's nothing around it. Turn head a bit to follow mouse move, pretty please? And unbent the spine, please, too... -- Thanks CCP for cu |

I have asked CCP Chiliad about this a couple of times. He said this was a choice (of theirs) to make us create a new portrait every time we change outfit. I did create this thread to highlight the issue/gain support but it sank without trace. __________________________________________________

on this build the old neocom/UI 'does' load first, BUT its unusable till CQ has finished loading and the FPS goes back up to playable. and that's just with one account running. __________________________________________________

1. Rate the graphics performance (framerate, UI lag, etc) On highest settings I had ~2fps in station and ~15fps in space On lowest settings with shadows off I had ~8fps in station and ~30fps in space
Those numbers are horrid but better than I was hoping for in station. Obviously loading the station and doing anything with the holograms was slow.
3. General feedback The first time I loaded I started in what I assume was my pod in the hangar. I could move the camera view but not zoom or see anything in regards to my character. I undocked and docked back in and my character was on the bridge and I had full movement. This first time the noise filter was not present. I couldn't interact with anything besides the panels on the wall, and the couch, mirror, and holograms were missing. I wasn't checking fps but it seemed considerably faster in station on all settings than the second time I loaded the client.
The second time I started out on the bridge without having to undock first. The noise filter was present and I could interact with everything fine albeit slow.
Both times I accessed the PI panel on the wall and after exiting the services pane on the right had disappeared. Redocking or accessing the character customization made it return. Also while in space if I hovered over anything in the overview the bottom half of the hud would turn red.
Overall better than I had expected. Might as well again ask to allow an option to stay in ship for those of us with slow systems. Also please consider doing away with that noise filter as it is incredibly ugly.

Okay, lets talk very, very seriously about Internet Outer Space Dolly Dress-up.
The first iteration of Incarna is coming along nicely. Many bugs are getting cleaned up and you've clearly taken some suggestions to heart. There are however two specific small features which I believe are very important upon release. These are:
Clothing Previews Clothing change without portrait change
Lets take these one at a time:
Clothing Previews:
The ability to view clothing and accessory options in the character editor before purchase... Simple enough.
How would this work?
The character editor is a two screen process. In the first screen we can adjust clothes, makeup and hair. In the second we adjust our portrait. Simply allow all clothing and accessory options to be visible in the first character editor screen. However players would only be allowed to take new portraits or return to their CQ (see more on this below) with items they had actually purchased.
Why is this important?
Because tiny item icons in our corp hangars are very non-descriptive. Because viewing items on our character will make players want to purchase more vanity items, and more vanity items sold means more items made which means more items sold... You get the point. It helps CCP's bottom line and makes players happy -its a win-win.
Clothing change without portrait change
The ability to change one's clothing and accessory options without any requirment to adjust one's portrait.
How would this work?
Once we've primped ourselves in very manly or feminine ways to get our hair, makeup, clothes and accessories just so we click next. At which point we are prompted with a question: "Do you want to change your portait as well? -Yes -No" By choosing no you are returned to the CQ in your new outfit without a picture change.
Why is this important?
Names and portraits in Eve are important. They define you and are, and how you become recognized in social circles. I believe I speak for many when saying I will not be able to ever purchase or try on new clothes or items if I am required to change my portrait every time. Not being able to change clothes and accessories without editing one's portrait will result in lost sales and unhappy players.
Okay, enough of this serious internet dolly talk... Hey make me a hat to go with these middle wear officer shirts. I need to finish this Police Women fetish costume.

I have noticed that the view of the ships from the balcony severely under-size the true scale of the ships. in relation to each other the ship scale is fairly accurate but in relation to a human body, i think that the ships should look much bigger than they are currently seen(only tested the carriers and battleships so far)

The trouble is they created the New Character Creator (NCC) for the purpose OF creating character portraits, or modifying them.
Its only now that we are about to start using the same tool to change clothes in incarna that suddenly it has/lacks features suitable for the task.
The two big ones being that it forces the creation of a new portrait every time you use it. And, now we use it in-game and not just on start-up, while in it you can't chat, but you don't disappear/get tagged as unavailable in chat either. Adding chat to the NCC could be tricky (although on my dual screen setup I have the space, I realise not everyone else will) but making the portrait at the end optional should be pretty easy.
It will also reduce image server load by reducing the number of new portraits it has to render, and reduce our bandwidth usage by reducing the frequency of portrait changes so our caches don't get out of date so fast. (that said portraits should be able to be turned off in-game to reduce lag and increase the space available for chatting. plus it would allow you to see a larger portion of those in the more populated chat channels. but that's a whole other discussion.) __________________________________________________
