The Khanid are the Black Sheep of the Amarr empire. Hence we should be able to recognize the fruit of their hands by the corresponding colour. Otherwise the universe will spiral into chaos!

Edited by: igil on 02/06/2011 13:11:53 The following ships are at risk of losing 90%** of what makes them neat:
- Sacrilege (already ruined)
- Heretic (not very nice to begin with, so really CCP can only improve this one in the future...)
- Vengeance
- Malediction
- Anathema
- Curse
- Damnation
Please, CCP, don't 'uglify' the coolest ships in the game!! Please, do improve the models, but don't take away our black/silver colour scheme!
** a rough estimate.

There should at least be a few pretty ships in EVE? Therefore I support the OP!
But let's hope that the Duality versiun is just a prototype and the final version will have a decent silver and black hull ..

Is it bad that I had to look up a Heretic since I've never seen one in game? I honestly wasn't aware that Khanid Innovations made the amarr interdictor.

It's not so bad, nobody even flies the Heretic anyway, so how could you know?
Really though, CCP, I would settle for a simple yes or no without any explanation at this point. What is that, five or ten seconds of your time? Then maybe I can stop worrying about this and do something more productive with my life!

Awesome new model + crappy paint job = mediocre ship. Sacrilege deserves better.

Originally by: igil With over 1200 views, I'm sure someone at CCP knows about this thread's existence.
Especially since CCP Guard and others continue to post in other threads. Now why can't we just get an honest answer out of them?
...because I'm pretty sure they judge whether a thread is worth responding too by the percentage of trollish responses in the thread. If I were a dev, I'd put jerkface posts/question as pretty low on my priority list to answer.
How many times do you hear "CCP only is doing _________ so they can charge _________ and **** us out of _______ that we really want." (Not just in this thread, check any of hundreds of others.)
Lots of people assume the worst out of the CCP, and accuse it of everything from laziness, apathy, to out and out deception and fraud. If I went to work everyday, put in my time, and someone on the other side of the interwebs raged on me like it was my personal responsibility to customize the game to their liking, I'd ignore them too, ESPECIALLY if they'd already given me their money, and were likely to continue doing so, whether I responded to their questions or not.
I think the whole Aurum - microtransaction model was perfectly acceptable. It's CCP saying, we only have time to do so much, if you want all these other things, you pay for us to add extra staff for us to program that stuff. I think this is pretty reasonable.

Two things:
1. You will eventually be able to change the colors on a ship. Here's hoping black is an option and that CCP doesn't charge Aurum for it.
2. My bet is that CCP is transitioning to a pay for the extras model because they're going to go Play for Free like other fail MMOs. How much you want to bet in a year or two, and if DUST fails they announce a free subscription model?

I agree: what? This topic isn¦t about microtransactions.
And about the first point: We all love CCP, this isn¦t the point. Und zum ersten Punkt von dir nber CPP: Ich glaube wir alle lieben CCP, dass nur zu dem Punkt.
So now to the topic.... we just want that that Ship what is black in the present, will be black in the future. Thats all.^^ Wir wollen einfach unser schwarze Sch÷nheit behalten.

If the answer is no, then could you please explain why the new sacrilege is brown?
Dont you guys see what's happening?
CCP will intentionally give ships ugly color schemes now so that you are forced to "beautify" your ships via the arum driven vanity store...coming to a neighborhood near you.
The word at CCp these days is CHA-CHING!!!$$$
Yes, it will cost you to make your ship look nice again.
....um yeah. I was responding to this. People are talking about microtransactions in this thread, like a conspiracy theory. And igil's asking the same thing over and over and over again like OMG CCP HATES US WHY DOES NO ONE EVER ANSWER ME MAYBE IF I REPOST 60 MORE TIMES WITH SAME THING CCP WILL SAY SOMETHING TO SHUT ME UP.
...and I'm not German, I live in Washington State, USA. I have no idea what you dudes are saying.

What ever happened to the sleek lines and shiny paint?
The old maller model actualy looked like some kind of armour peice or helmet, it is an extremely durable ship, but now it will look like any other ship. Characterless.

...and despite my earlier rant, I agree. :) I fly a curse and I'll be irritated if its brown. And yes, the new maller is much less sleek, which is the hallmark of Amarr ship aesthetics.
Maybe they're going for a more Caldari-inspired look? naaah, cause they're hitting the maller with the ugly stick too. Weird.

I didn't want to type this up again, so I dug it up from a thread earlier in the week:
Originally by: Mister Smithington I couldn't disagree more with some of you.
The new maller is very amarrian. Thick carapace top in gleaming gold, a staple of amarrian design. Jagged edges on the carapace, in the style of the Abaddon, Providence and the carriers. Armor plates suspended from the sides rather than bolted directly to the frame, similar to the abaddon and arbitrator. Rounded crescent viewing ports, another amarr standard. Pointy beak things on the wings reminiscent of the Prophecy. Enlarged bow in the style of the punisher, current maller, armageddon, and others. It has weight to throw around and the engines to throw it.
This thing screams Amarr.
However the Sacrilege needs a new paint job. Now. Khanid ships are black. What's this brown/tan crap?
Also, bump

But then everybody will be flying black ships because they're cool, and the rest of us will have to go with hot pink with white pokadots to stand out.
Also, CCP...you're on thin ice with me after what you did to carthum ships. You took away the super shiny gold, and now you're taking away my black models with blue lights? /sadpants
But I am totally okay changing the model to look like a hookbill.

Come on, CCP like to tease their players and just say nothing. Look at the threads about making CQ optional and CCP apparently making it mandatory. Not once has CCP responded to this, yet on the test server they now have a build where it's optional.
I think the Khanid paint job on the new Sac will be corrected before it's on TQ.

It's already been decided. Like with the camo paint of Gallente navy ships. It's to bring Khanid ships in line with the color scheme used in Khanid navy ships already found in the game. No amount of complaints and counter proposals dissuaded them from their decision last time and neither will now. -------- Due to bandwidth streamlining, signature images are no longer displayed.
