Since the patch today, the planetary mining is messed up - anyone else experiencing problems?

PI utterly FUBARed for me too.
Mining noble metals (for example) indexes start on 40-60. Move the heads by 1 pixel they jump up to 250-300 (this is a null sec planet) but the mined/hour stays at about 3500 (used to be about 15,000). Commiting the program and reopening the screen shows the indexes remaining at 40-60.
Similar effect for other materials/moons. It's as if the scanner is showing production at the null sec levels, but the ecu actually mines at the high sec levels.
Clearing the cache had no effect.

Scanner data are now completely misleading. I found places outside max concentration on scanner which allow mine 3-4 times more (!) than in maximums indicated by scanner. In other cases output of PI is sometimes 10 times less then before patch (in any places in extractor range).

Sent: 2011.05.31 23:44 To: MEELLO,
Hi, When im chosing the location of my extractors the extractor thing gives you a running total per hour and overall total....
Once i then click instal program, the totals drop signifcantly...
E.g
"Output Per hour: 42,276 Units Total: 1,014,844 Units"
Once i press Install Progam and click submit, it drops to
"Output Per Hour: 30,049 Total: 721,197"
Is this inaccuracy due to a skill i haven't trained? Or something broken with my PI? I also understand that planets are finite resources, however surely this would show on the scans before i install/submit program? Hello,
We apologize for the delay in getting back to you.
The issue you reported is known and appears to be intended according to the developers. The quota number you get before submitting the installation is merely an approximation. To see what you really should get you need to check the current cycle output on each extractor.
If you need further assistance please let us know.

this is a big issue with all the POS's in game this will make PI POS fuel sky rocket for some time.
CCP please look at this issue.... I was trying to tell them about this issue. this is what i have been having for an issue for some time, and i get the normal blow off.

A lot of mine are down to 1000 units per hour, as opposed to 18k yesterday, and those spots are still white. I know for a fact i should be getting more than that, and most of them are still ok and acting normal... Clearing cache hasn't worked, and neither has destroying the ECU and rebuilding it.

No missing nodes, everything seems to work fine except that ECUs which had been mining about 9-12K/hour are now down in the hundreds. Maybe as much as 1200 if I'm lucky. The individual heads on one show ranging from 55-61% yet the hourly rate is 1200. The field shows as rich (dark blue). Deleting and recreating the ECU made no difference.

Might as well toss my issues in as well.
All of my toons are finding that 2 planets each are experiencing this bug. Even centered on a hot spot (at 4/4 planetology skills) my outputs are in the 1,000 range per hour (yesterday these same planets were outputting 40-50k each), with many heads reporting 0 output (moving the heads changes the output to the 150+ that they were at yesterday, but doesn't change the mined per hour). As with everyone else, submitting and restarting doesn't appear to change anything.
I realize some fluctuation is to be expected due to depletion, but this seems mighty extreme, and the extraction rates don't seem to be linked to the actual hot spots shown on the planet, even with pretty good planetology skills.

i beleive its not a nerf, its patch fail :) because if you move your node slightly - you will see normal values, and when you'll start a program - they drop down 10 times :)

I, too, am getting weirdness. Extractors claiming to be able to get MUCH better deposits in areas showing next to no minerals than in areas showing a bumper crop.
My skills are trained to 4. This is very strange.
CCP, if this is a "Works as intended" situation, then high surveying skills are sometimes next to counterproductive.

This is messing up my game badly. PI is my primary source of income (and it finances my PLEXes), and mining amount is dropping so badly across the board that I can nolonger sustain my gaming. If this keeps up, what is it going to do to PI goods prices on the market?

If you got a response from a GM and not a bug hunter, you submitted your problem to the wrong place. Submit it to the bugs deal (https://bugs.eveonline.com/newbugreport.asp), not a petition. Don't forget to read the article on how to submit a bug report before you do if you've never done it before (https://bugs.eveonline.com/help.asp), having the correct information will make fixing it faster...
It seems CCP Spitfire posted in a thread in the GD board saying it was a bug they're looking at (actually multiple) so they're probably going to fix it soon. - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring |

As with everyone else, submitting and restarting doesn't appear to change anything. Neither does removing and then replacing the extractor head in question. I have tried moving the extractor head to a new location and a different "functioning" head to the "broken" head's location. The result is that the "broken" head still malfunctions, the working head appears to give the correct (around 150) amount.
I realize some fluctuation is to be expected due to depletion, but this seems mighty extreme, and the extraction rates don't seem to be linked to the actual hot spots shown on the planet, even with pretty good planetology skills. It doesn't appear to be on a per planet basis, since two of my characters are mining the same planet but only one is experiencing the bug on that planet. (They both have it though).
Btw, what's happening is the heat maps on the planet aren't matching what the extractor heads are finding. You pretty much have to go by the numbers displayed for extraction/h and do it that way...I moved my heads around until I got good numbers last night, and almost all of them ended up in areas that the heat map thingy was showing no materials present. There also seems to be something wrong with the numbers in general, but not sure why or what...hopefully they figure it out soon. - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring |

The morning after and PI extractors are still broken. I spent a long time finding good planets to build my production facilities on, and I hope to God this is not now "working as intended". There was no mention in the patch notes about intentionally altering, so for now I assume this to be a CCP-induced BUG.
CLEARING CACHE AS STATED DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.

Edited by: Pope Titus on 01/06/2011 18:30:44 Edited by: Pope Titus on 01/06/2011 18:29:23 I as well have had issues with the PI.
after doing a Fresh 6 planet PI install after patch. only noticable issue was Noble Metals. The hot spots reveiled 200+ per extractor node, but hourly rate was under 1000 for 5 nodes. When I moved the extractor node over a area that had no resources via the scan, it returned a 0 for the head amounts, but gave me 10k per hour rate. Seems something is backwards.
And I did get the 10k per hour listed in a scanned "no resource" area of the planet after I installed the extractor head.

Intended my ARSE. A survey of 100+ per cycle is transformed to 0-10 once you hit initiate. On some planets the scans seems to be negative, on others it's totally random, on others it's as normal...

Similar issues for me, command center disapeared (hided in the ground!), extractors missing (can't restart for extracting) and the resources extracting, if showed, are very reduced. Same for 4 Planets.

Well it wouldnt be a problem if it was just showing incorrect values, but it actually getting incorrect amounts which you can route. so instead of 12k i am routing barely 2k...

I have 1 ECU that does this - Base metals on a Lava planet. However, the ECU for Heavy metals on the same planet works fine. I cleared cache but that does not seem to help.
I also have severely reduced numbers until I move the heads around.
