Suddenly (i.e. post-1.6 patch), I can no longer switch from fullscreen to do other things without crashing the client.
Used to be I could run fullscreen, switch to other programs for a bit (aka while afk-hauling) and then come back to fullscreen.
Post-patch I run fullscreen, activate autopilot and switch out to do other things. Everything looks fine, EVE-icon is in the list and I can switch to it. But suddenly it's just gone, silently and the client is nowhere to be found.
I've played around abit and it seems I can sit in station forever while switched, nothing happens. But as soon as I'm in space and jumping across systems in the background while switched out the client crashes.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Same exact thing is happening to me. I am auto-piloting through Empire and alt-tabbed watching youtube videos in fullscreen. After some amount of time EVE client crashes. Sometimes with a crash warning from Windows, sometimes the same mysterious disappearance of the client.
Win7
The error code said something about a something trinity module. If I get the error again I will post the full text.

Edited by: Slatekka on 02/06/2011 00:09:53 Well this time was a different module, but here is the error windows gave me:

The bolded section seems to be the type of error. BEX means Buffer Overflow Exception. I hope this helps in determining a fix on CCP's or our end.

Got another error code, just a few moments ago:

The last error was after being alt-tabbed for probably 30 minutes or so (enough to go 50 jumps auto pilot in a mostly stock Condor.). This second error was about 3 minutes after entering space and starting auto-pilot and alt-tabbing.

I am receiving a similar crash, slightly different.
Same as OP, once I (Command+Tab) out to watch some youtube or do other tasks while AP after a few minutes the screen will interrupt into a blackscreen with the EVE crosshair pointer, unable to do anything. Only way to get out of it is to (Command+Tab) again, where a short 1 second error script/code shows up with a yes/no button that I have to click in 1 second before it disappears, to which the EVE client then closes.
Quite a serious bug that didn't happen pre-patch.

Gives me the following error message as it crashes:
"Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000020 at address 0x7876dd4b. Do you wish to debug it ?"
*Click okay*
It then says:
"Transgaming C Runtime Library Error -> Buffer overrun"
*Click okay*
-Client closes-

These are screenshots of the crashing promts (happened when I was browsing the market in-game.) Happened back to back as you can tell from the clock, all during market browsing.
**Taken after Incursion 1.6 Client Update #3, however it has been crashing since the initial 1.6 Client.

I have this exact same error, except for me I can't ever press ok. It happend when I command+tab out of EVE to do something else and attempt to open EVE back up. Have to restart the client every time I happens, and it happens regularly, not immediately upon command+tabbing out of the game but on the second or third time. |

I've noticed that it now practically only happens when autopiloting (as the autopilot jumps systems). -

Makeshift workaround found for the issue!
If you put your map to Star map and leave your screen in map view, you can then engage autopilot without the client crashing on system-jumps whilst being switched out from Fullscreen.
Hope this helps. -
