Edited by: Sakura Ren Fenikkusu on 06/06/2011 04:58:39 I don't know if this intentional or not, but it looks like you can indeed disable Captain's Quarters, at least with the current version on the Test Server.
If you go into General Settings and uncheck "Load Station Environment", the Captain's Quarters will not load. After you make this change, you must redock or relog for the effect.
You will now only have the NeoCom and CQ loading screen displayed while docked. It's not as pretty as the old ship-spinning interface, but at least you won't have to load the Captain's Quarters everytime you dock.
So, Incarna naysayers rejoice, you can enjoy your internet spaceships without the avatars, although I must say, I like staring at myself in the mirror. :P

Yup, old news. A few threads about this already, and pining for ship-spinning.
The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the ho's and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!' and I'll look down, and whisper 'no.' |

Oh, thank the stars.
Seriously, It's not that a lot of us can't load CQ, and we will on occasion ***love*** to relax in our CQ and enjoy looking at our ships from the hangar -- It's just that ***nobody*** wants their docking time to increase from 20 seconds, to upwards of 3 minutes.
If Incarna means taking much longer to do the same tasks people have been doing for years, it doesn't matter how gorgeous or pretty the room looks -- those people will leave the game in flocks.
But if this CQ disable option is true, then CCP really is listening to us ~ Yay =)

(^_^) I hadn't heard anything about it, probably buried in a thread somewhere, so thought I would post.

it was obvious they'd add this feature because it does not run on everyones computer at all or well but it will eventually be dropped as a feature/option. ----------------------------------------- View The North Star! In All Its Glory!!

This may interest you. tl;dw, guy docks on both Incursiona and Incarna, fits a mod on his ship, then undocks. Incursion time, 45 seconds. Incarna time, 47 seconds.
I do like the option of being able to not load the CQ environment, but it's certainly not going from 20 seconds to upwards of 3 minutes.

3 minutes?! Wow, either people have really crappy computers or I must be doing something wrong. When I'm on Sisi, I dont notice any additional time to load the CQ.

For me,on sisi and duality dock / undock was similar in time but fitting a ship, or doing anything like moving items from hangar to cargo, took waaaay too long.
Gonna miss ship spinning.

I'm going to miss ship spinning too, we can still spin them in the ship fitting screen at least :P
The time fitting a ship and moving items around I think is related to either a new or modified inventory system, or just a database difference between TQ and SiSi. It's been laggy like that on the test server for the past few patches.

People like to pull numbers out of their ass just to serve their purpose of general dissatisfaction of the game

Just popping in to point out that -
"But it runs fine on my computer!"
- isn't actually an argument.
Good riddance, though. Hopefully they won't take the option out.
