Edited by: Leonin Aven on 06/06/2011 06:34:00 EVE keeps crashing. All the time. Sometimes it stays connected for hours, sometimes it decides it doesn't want to work at all.
Disconnects will happen one time, or happen in sets every 10 minutes. I'm tired of losing my drones.
My internet is perfectly stable and completely unaffected. The problem continues regardless of in game settings. It occurs with, or without my router. IE it happens when Modem -> Router -> Computer, and it occurs Modem -> Computer. My security software is not interfering. What are some of the general fixes to prevent crashing?
Operating System: Windows VistaÖ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6002) Service Pack 2 (6002.vistasp2_gdr.100608-0458) System Model: Dell XPS420 BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A06 Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.3GHz Memory: 6078MB RAM Page File: 2591MB used, 9749MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11 DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 7.00.6002.18107 32bit Unicode
Sometimes when trying to log back in I get a socket error. Sometimes I don't. Sometimes I can just hit enter again and it will work, sometimes I have to restart my computer (and nothing short of restarting my computer) To get back in. In either case, my drones are long dead and I am annoyed.

I am having the same error and it's really getting quite annoying, luckily for me i don't use any drone ships except carriers, and ccp did something correctly and coded it so my fighters return to me when i DC, but this is getting fast irritating and making the game unplayable.

My EVE is crashing randomly. Client was fresh installed with 500+ MB recent update. On crash report says _trinity_deploy.dll file is the cause of crash.
have updated winxp, q9550 intel on asus p5kc with 4gb ram Whether you think you can or can`t, you are absolutely right. |

Same, and crash report also shows trinity_deploy.dll as the cause.

I'm still having this problem, even after these patches. It was probably a coincidence, but yesterday I didn't disconnect at all, yet today I am disconnecting again every 10 minutes or so at random. Losing drones is just as annoying now as it was two days ago.

It does seem gfx related as the GPU fans shoot up and tempratures raise, in one crash today my corp ceo burnt out his gfx card.. I don't think whatever this crash is it will be a healthy one.

I had the exact same problem. I cleared my cache and it solved the problem for me.

god ffing incursion! i wish ccp would just roll back to when the things worked. id rather have stability than some worthless captains quarters that cause crash every day.

I too am having this issue. I have even been disconnected 20+ times in 1 hour. The game will simply not allow me to maintain a connection.
I thought I would check my ISP as there were some reports of EVE being flagged as a P2P program but VM have investigated this and come back with an answer:
http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Fibre-optic-broadband-cable/Traffic-Shaping-a-connection-to-a-gaming-server/td-p/216051/page/2
Last post on this ticket reads:
"The ticket has been returned from our network teams. They have tested this thoroughly, and can confirm that the traffic for Eve Online is definitely not being mis-identified as P2P traffic and managed as such. They (and we) can also confirm that there are no overall connection problems relating to your modem."
So this now leads me back to EVE itself. I can play for hours as I have today without any problems but can get randomly DC'ed. I have been engaged in a fleet fight today of 1000+ and was NOT DC'ed. Then the fights ends and I get disconnected 3 times in under 3 minutes. I will log in and as soon as my ship is out of the warp from safe the client freezes and becomes unresponsive. The DC will follow anything from 10 seconds to 10 minutes afterwards.
I really am grateful that others have identified the same problem and been able to pin the same thing down as a cause of the DC's. Hopefully this will give CCP what they need to resolve the issue but for those of you wondering, this is NOT an ISP issue.
Looking forward to a fix CCP and thanks guys for the investigative work. GJ
