Just a thought about a second heavy interdictor ship. One that fits instead of making a bubble that that prevents warp it prevents the use of MWDs and ABs while inside of the bubble. People can still freely warp in and out of the bubble, they just can't use any propulsion modules. There would be two modules, the bubble module now that can only be fitted to the current HICs and a second module that can only be fitted to the new ship.

By itself it doesn't seem overpowered... but if used in conjunction with a normal HIC bubble it can remove the possibility of any and all other tactics being used except "gank and tank."
I'm going to have to say no. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

I'm going to have to say no.
It could be made so you can't activate while inside a bubble already. That way you can't just have two directly on top of each other, there'd only be a small area where you can get trapped by the two. Then if you do wander into the other bubble, both modules are deactivated for 10 seconds.
Sciency interference and whatnot. |

With this hinderence, both would be viable, but could not be used together. |

With this hinderence, both would be viable, but could not be used together. Except that that "limitation" can be gotten around by...
... using the warp bubble to "grab" people out of warp, point the person manually, lowering the warp field, and putting up the "new" bubble.
... having the warp disruption bubble in the center of a whole bunch of "new" bubbles... the warp disruption bubble giving people time to apply a long point (imagine a Lachesis or Arazu 40+ km off) and the "new" bubbles effectively preventing any means of escape and/or ability to engage. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |
