CCP if you want us to use the old UI then why did you spend so much time and resources designing the CQ? You know what I expect from the CQ? I should be able to CTRL+F9 my old ui and still reach EVERY SINGLE option I currently have without ever seeing a window from the old interface.
If all you're doing is giving us new buttons to bring up the same old windows then why are you wasting our time? We KNOW how to reach the old menus if we want them, do it right or dont do it at all. The current CQ is shaping up to be really half assed.

If you think that then this thread might interest you. And yes the 'new' UI is useless. It fails by loading windows that cover up the buttons to load windows... Which is about as daft as sitting on a branch of a tree and sawing it off between you and the tree... __________________________________________________

CQ is more of a public test than it is a useful feature. Their initial goals with CQ are:
1: Get the carbon tech in use so bugs can be worked out ahead of their larger "incarna" release. Getting feedback and other polish issues fall into this category as well. Expect numerous small client patches between now and winter. Something to keep in mind is that they have been working on carbon probably since around Apocrypha, the expansions since then have been pretty minor feature wise as they redid large parts of legacy code. So we are starting to get into the release phase of the main development effort of the last two years.
2: To give players (particularly new players) more of a connection with their character. This is important, and something that has been lacking in eve and while many players (including me to a certain degree) see CQ as basically frivolous and annoying, I think it will improve the new player experience. Especially once (if) the annoying movement and performance issues get sorted out. The performance issues have to be resolved before they can scale this to multiuser.

Just a guess, but when they bring out the other features of Incarna, walking around stations, going to player owned stores, bars, mission NPCs etc, the 3D UI will be vital. Really it's just a much more elegant right click menu we see in space.
CCP have stated that this is the foundation for an updated UI, so we'll probably see a lot more of it in the future.

Well you could just goto this link and apply.
But even seeing this link makes me hopeful. I'm sure they know that the UI is pretty dated, but it's more of a baby steps thing. Cause we all know how much the EVE community embraces drastic changes.
