Hello. Are any 'best' strategies for killing tacklers (webifer/scrambler frigs) in a PvE BS. Seems like my drones are not getting it done even with a webifyer. I'ld hate to loose a high slot to medium sized weapons on a BS.
Also, is one BS better than others for killing these pesk?
Thanks!

Light T2 drones usually do the job. ________________________________________________ I feel free to explore only within boundaries.

I have no problems using T1 Light drones; your Drone support skills may need some work, though. The ones that boost damage, hot points, etc.

Webs dont necessarily help your drones do more damage. And t2 light or medium drones will do the work so dont waste your mids.

Dominix or Rattlesnake.
Drone damage bonuses let you tear up small ships in seconds.

Thanks. Been away from the game for a few years. Didn't realize that my light drones would do better against the interceptors.

I found a interesting thing happenss when you turn in a webber for a jammer for missions. Those pesky frigates fly away when jammed and drone / guns easily tear them up.

Webs (and even worse jammers) are not at all necessary for missions. Just shoot the frigs on approach and use light drones on the ones that get close.

There is a pretty good summary here, but the key items are quoted below:-
Originally by: robocpf1
First off, there are 19 drone skills you can train - in drone boats that aren't carriers, only 16 apply to you (you don't need Adv Drone Interfacing, Fighters, or Fighter Bombers).
Furthermore, if you only want one race's T2 drones, you can knock out another 3 skills - the racial Drone Specialization skills. This leaves 13 skills total.
If you don't want repair drones or mining drones, that brings you to 11. I assume you want EWAR so I'll keep that one in.
So there are 11 skills (all of the skills under Drones, except those excluded above) that you should train. You absolutely, positively must have Drones to 5 and Scout Drone Operation to 5. After that, train all of the other skills however you want, read their descriptions and train as many as you can. Drone Interfacing, specifically, grants a 20% bonus to drone damage per level - it's a really nice skill to have trained.
There are three (yes, only three) modules that you can put on your ship to increase your drone effectiveness: Omnidirectional Tracking Link I, Drone Link Augmentor I, and Drone Navigation Computer I. These boost tracking/optimal range, control range, and speed, respectively. Check in-game for the prereqs for these pieces of equipment.
tl:dr = Drones & Scout Drone Operation to V, All others to at least III.
Also (and if memory serves), Drones V + Drone Interfacing III = around twice as much drone DPS than at Drone IV.

5x hobgoblin/warrior II's should do the trick. Against some of the tougher ones it can take a minute however, especially if you have weak drone skills. The 20% per level bonus from drone interfacing for example makes a huge difference. You should train that to at least 4 and it should be high priority to 5. The other drone support skills are perfectly acceptable at lvl3-4. Thus far you shall read, but no further; for this is my sig. |
