Would it be interesting if CCP threw in a plot twister like having the two galaxies reconnect after.... those like 40 thousand years?.... How crazy would that be how two seperate societies would reaquaint after all those years, the wars, the drama, the astro-politics!
What do you think it would be like if CCP introduced the home galaxy to the world of eve!

The terrans would be to the jove what the jove are to the rest of us. Provided they survived this long.

Edited by: Caviar Liberta on 13/06/2011 00:03:13 They might have followed a similar line of development but who is to say since we don't know if they had to redevelop the technology as they did in new eden. They could have remained static also in their development as a status quo can sometimes lead to stagnation. The Terran might also be the Jove as they might have worked on a solution to get to new eden instead of using the wormhole and this could explain such a keen interest the Jove has in those that live in new eden.
Nothing is more certain than the indispensable necessity of government, and it is equally undeniable, that whenever and however it is instituted, the people must cede to it some of their natural right |

Edited by: Paladinhunt on 14/06/2011 03:32:47 I would rather like to see the Milky Way as a dead wasteland galaxy, hidden with dangers of post-terran remnants of technology connected by a network of damaged stargates and unstable wormholes.
Possibly the Terrans gave the Jove a mission to protect Humanity from greater alien threats than interfere with our internal struggles between the Empires when their civilization died.

could the andromeda galaxy have collided with the milky way by this point? There might not be much left to begin with... --

Edited by: Deviana Sevidon on 15/06/2011 11:11:24 The EVE gate could have been connected not only to a different location in space, but also to a different point in time, sending every ship and human to a cluster in the far future of the universe, or far into the past.
Possibly mission control on terran side have just started to wonder why the EVE gate collapsed a few seconds ago.

All we've done is move to another galaxy (or heck, possibly even a different part of the same galaxy) for 30,000-odd years. That's the cosmological equivalent of stepping out into the back yard for a quick smoke. Almost nothing of astronomical note would have happened if we returned to the Milky Way we know.
EDIT:- Assuming we have only been displaced spatially and not temporally, that is.

unknown space, no CONCORD FTL Comms beacons (i.e. no "local")... riches beyond even *our* wildest dreams, guarded by the remnants of ancient technology....
sounds a lot like W-space

What if the regions that we know as Wormhole space is old Terra space, and for all we know, back in terran space, the closure of EVE could have had a far more disastrous effect, the old wars could have flared up again, or the back blast of the wormhole collapse could have collapsed the old terran Stargate network. We ride the frontiers of space, we fight the epic fight, we are gods in our own right. So why cant we land on a planet a stretch our legs? |
