I haven't tried it but that is the answer to the question which gets asked every few days :)
basically this is the standard cloaky/buffer proteus fit, usually used in WHs:
[Proteus, PVP Buffer Mega tank] 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Imperial Navy Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane Imperial Navy Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane Armor Explosive Hardener II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
10MN Afterburner II Warp Scrambler II Stasis Webifier II
Heavy Ion Blaster II, Void M Heavy Ion Blaster II, Void M Heavy Ion Blaster II, Void M Heavy Ion Blaster II, Void M Heavy Ion Blaster II, Void M Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Medium Trimark Armor Pump I Medium Trimark Armor Pump I Medium Trimark Armor Pump I
Proteus Defensive - Augmented Plating Proteus Electronics - Friction Extension Processor Proteus Propulsion - Localized Injectors Proteus Offensive - Covert Reconfiguration Proteus Engineering - Power Core Multiplier
Since it is cloaky you do not necessarily need an MWD, if you remove the cloak fit an MWD to get in blaster range.
Adapt to own playstyle. Remove plates, add neutron blasters, MFS, also viable.
Lessbuffer/neutron blaster, nullified/lesstank/lessdps/, scanningsub, ... seen everyting |

With the proliferation of XL-ASBs setups I'd strongly recommend you to avoid using Proteus if you're not with a solid group.
This is just a friendly warning. brb |

Out of curiosity...why? If a weapon type can beat an ASB tanked ship, then blasters. "Fly in a group" cannot be the only answer here. |
