Can I ask how are you determining/picking the winners from the forum drawings?

It's based on the quality of your posting. In your case I wouldn't get your hopes up. ~~~

Glad you asked!
For the forums I have two bowls. In one bowl I add numbers which represent the number of eligible pages. In the other bowl are the numbers 1 to 30 as we have 30 posts per page.
I will pick a number from bowl one and navigate to that page. Once there, I have a second bowl and I check how many people on that page have picked the winning team. Let's say there are three winning entries which are post numbers 7, 14 and 22 then those numbers are added to a second bowl and a final winner chosen. Sorry it could not be more high tech than that! Though I did have to write out a lot of numbers.
Facebook and Twitter took me by surprise due to the vast number of replies. I had a collection of numbers from 1 to 300 and had to quadruple that after the first Facebook event which generated over 500 replies!
For Twitter and Facebook it is simply listing the first eligible entry as number one and then getting the number of the final eligible entry. These numbers are then added to a hat and numbers drawn until the first valid winner is pulled out.
Yes, I am that high tech.
I will probably research some cool electronic ways to do this for future competitions but for this weekend, it was simply drawing numbers manually.

Good to know you're using something more reliable then EVE's RNG then

So, the rumor that CCP has a working spaceship that they used to fly out to Eyjafjallaj÷kull to sacrifice pieces of paper with the names of possible winners. Then, simply wait for the volcano to erupt the winning name is not true?
Perhaps would you consider a live feed of CCP Navigator and CCP Sunset playing Quafe pong. The first one to score a point decides the winner? In-side each cup can be a random number pulled out of a hat from one to five-hundred at the bottom. You just keep playing until one scores a point in a cup that has a number on the forums. |
