Couple questions: 1. What ore, generally speaking is most profitable to strip mine and sell outright without refining. Where in high sec space is such mining the most profitable? 2. What ore, generally speaking is most profitable with refining without a refining specialization yet trained? Thanks

1. Join a corp. They will likely refine and buy your ore/minerals at a decent price for you.
2. I already said what to do! Do it!
Enjoy!

In a unique situation right now that keeps me from joining a mining corp. I would like to at some point. Right now I am mining to fund a non-profit, social experiment corp. of which I am founder and CEO. So, I am on my own as a miner.

Well.... thats a good question. Everyone generally buys ore at a very very low rate as to make profit on it for refining. But I'm going to give a guess of Pyroxeres (spelling error?) found in Caldari space and one other high sec, I'm thinking Gallente.
Its the only high sec that refines into nocxium, and even though the price is starting to decline it'll be your best bet. Veldspar will net you the second best most likely.

BASIC Omber and Kernite. Not any of their +5%/+10% variants. Where ? In stations with storyline agents, preferably close to or in a mission hub. They can sell for 2 to 3 or even 4 times the perfect refine mineral value.

Since the waste percentage is the same at equal skills (zero all is equal), the answer is the same as for perfect skills. http://www.bsacse.amxg4.com/tools/index.php?id=oreincome Actual values change depending on location, so look at it more as a guideline than anything else, you have to do your own math. _

To expand on that Omber for lvl 3 hub storyline agents and Kernite for lvl 4. You could also do plain Veldspar (lvl 1) and Scordite (lvl 2) but probably not so much as for the lvl 3/4.

Pyroxenes can be found in Amarr space.

I find mining hulks and mackinaws for ice cubes and t2 modules/salvage can be quite profitable too, per hour. I once made nearly 250 million in less than 10 seconds doing it.
Sometimes you happen across the most profitable and rare high sec ore of all, the PLEX-tanked kestrel.
But seriously, may wish to join a nullsec renter corp to help grind security rating if you're shooting for optimal highsec mining income.
And in summary, bigger blobs are the answer. Now what was the question? |
