There are a number of posts and comments regarding the new proposed EW changes. This concerns adjusting the ranges of EW and taking on a limited "to hit" percentage chance. I'd like to see the recommended points brought up for discussion. The best ideas I have seen are the following:
1)"Invert" targetting accuracy on most EW. Reason for this is because targetting modules sought to be more accurate up close. It's not really inverted because all turrets have better tracking at range, but whatever. Instead of all EW performing normally (100%) within a certain range, it should operate normally (99%) beyond a certain range.
2)Warp scramming gets stronger or more accurate up close. Warp core stabs are passive modules so they probably can't be configured with a range effect. These are the truly inverted ones if they have a "to hit" or tracking effect. This way interceptor tacklers retain their proper role.
Also, I'd like to see other areas of electronic warfare addressed, like targetting. Targetting should have a range modifier, the farther you are away from a target when you initiate targetting, the longer it should take to lock on. Remote lock time boosters would simply compensate for the additional range they offer the sniper.
Since there is a trend to have both active and passive versions of modules, maybe a passive kind of sensor damper is needed. This one obviously can't decrease the range of the targetting of the aggressor, but it can slightly lengthen lock on times of the aggressor. Simply a module to decrease signature radius would be nice, but since ships like the geddon have no modifier, the effect is incredibly tiny.
Logically, CCP really ought to provide new battlefields on which these and older tools can be put to use. Give us a new way to make cash in the game, new places to chase each other down and make the gate to gate battlefield obsolete. Long range gate camping must be shutdown. Permanently. Nobody cares if it is the holy last bastion of piracy. It's stupid and the vast majority of players wants it gone. Find a new way to pirate, find a way to structure your pvp and actually talk to the people you desire to combat. It will probably be more rewarding, but if you can't hack the social fundamentals.. well, you probably won't be missed.
