What are they supposed to do about it? They can't really make Tranquility or related servers DDOS proof as far as I am aware due to it being way too expensive and impossible to make something completely DDOS proof. All they can do is close Eve, sit out the attack and once it's over and clear open it up again.
Also CCP seems to have done a great job so far with yesterday's attack by shutting everything off at the first sign of trouble and letting us know what was going on pretty quickly. Many companies would have informed it's customers late and with ****ty information, as we have seen time and time again.

The internet as a whole has this curious vulnerability that allows little people to cause major damage and disruption to the masses.
Someone re-invent the internet please.

Yeah and they wasn't even ready for it yesterday, now they know theres a possiblity of another one they will be ready to flip the switch(the group will probably be more determined now because i think eve-o is the only one they have failed at?).

They didn't fail, they did a DDOS attack and took Eve down. They did not actively hack Eve and go after client/account info. It seems they have decided to do it again tonight. They are currently "taking requests" and I'm guessing many people want to see Eve go down again just so they can picture the people raging over it.
And as far as them doing it again and making it "easier to find" you really do not get the nature of what is going on. They are using compromised machines to initial the DDOS. They use any numbe rof methods to control these botnets that can pretty much mask the origins of who is doing it. Doing it over and over doesn't really make it easier to track down.
I am a bit disturbed that there is no way for me to remove my CC info from my account. I hadn't really thought of that until these attacks started. I ran across this with a different game I tried and I am now seeing that very many websites that do CC transactions do not have a way to remove stored CC info. I am seriously considering changing my on line habits as a result of all of these actions. Paper billing is starting to look good again.

it does make it easier... compromised computers usually have holes of some, any kind not all compromised computers are infected from spam mails when you are hunting for their tracker or ircd.. whatever form of control they are using, you need to gain control of one of the compromised computers
the bad news is proving they did it is almost always the hardest part everyone gets caught though... everyone
the only ones that get away are the hackers you never hear about, never know is there.. the good ones :) and lulzsec (or whatever it was) doesn't belong in the category, now does it

You can petition to have your credit card information deleted. I was paying by credit card but started making enough isk in game to pay it for that way so I asked CCP to delete my information which they did.
