Edited by: Othran on 17/06/2011 16:26:33 Umm you're flying the wrong ship matey.
Pilgrim for PVE? Expensive waste of time for ratting.
Edit - the Pilgrim is a PvP ship, and more than that its almost exclusively a low-sec PvP ship as the Curse outperforms it in null and there are better recons to be lighting covert cynos with (IMHO)

Just use a cookie cutterish pvp fit, it will be able to tank low sec rats easily and you can always defend yourself or make the most of any targets of opportunity.
If you really want to make ISK though you might be better off using the Pilgrim to do some level three missions, you wont get any BS rats but low sec BS rats are only 500k or so and even in 0.1 systems are not that common so with the mission payout, bounties and the increased LP you get from missioning in lowsec would probably bring in more ISK more consistently for you. A Pilgrim with an afterburner can easily handle level 3 missions.
Cookie Cutter pvp fit,
[Pilgrim, Plate & med rep] 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Medium Armor Repairer II Damage Control II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrive Warp Scrambler II Stasis Webifier II Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor I, Optimal Range Disruption Medium Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I, Cap Booster 800
Covert Ops Cloaking Device II Medium Unstable Power Fluctuator I Medium Unstable Power Fluctuator I Small Unstable Power Fluctuator I
Medium Ancillary Current Router I Medium Trimark Armor Pump I
Valkyrie II x5 Hammerhead II x5 Vespa EC-600 x5
Needs a 3% powergrid implant and Recon 5 to fit.

Remember that if you fit the Pilgrim for bonuses you will have NO onboard DPS, it'll all be drones. That works out to about 240 DPS using T2 medium drones. It sounds like an exceptionally boring way of spending your time (and isk).

Pilgrim has 3 turret slots and the cap to power lasers so it's the highest dps covert recon by a mile when packing hp. Still, a bomber does significantly more and can rat with impunity in 0.0 so why bother with the pilgrim? I mean a zealot would eb a far better choice but again, if it does well in 0.0 what's the point?
If you make use of the 4 launchers the the curse can rat well - an no one will really bother you either :) ***The EVE servers and their patches***

Indeed. Fit out a bomber and rat in npc null as its more lucrative and safer than ratting in a Pilgrim in low-sec.
Edit - if you meant Curse in low-sec then you WILL get bother on gates. Null then no worries.

Edit - Jhag, this works with no implants, its PvP obviously :
[Pilgrim, Low-sec] 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Nanofiber Internal Structure II Damage Control II
10MN Afterburner II Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor I, Tracking Speed Disruption Medium Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800 Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor I, Tracking Speed Disruption Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I

Warrior II x5 Hammerhead II x5 Valkyrie II x5 Hornet EC-300 x5
I heard ratting with no rep and terrible dps is really smart.
OP. If you absolutely have to use a pilgrim for ratting, fit some weapons on it rather than nos/neut.
I assume you are wanting something that cloaks in order to travel about safely but honestly, you would be better off ratting in a high dps frigate than one of these.

WTF? Why don't YOU try reading the thread. The OP is asking for low sec ratting fits and you go and pop a PVP fit into the discussion. One that is horrendous for ratting, unless you enjoy docking up every 10 systems to repair your ship. And you have the nerve to say I'm trolling for providing actual relevant advice? GTFO jesus christ. ~~~

I posted it in response to someone who'd posted a mwd PvP fit.

Here is a fun fit I have actually used to rat in 0.0
It is not efficient, but it is a pilgrim designed to rat in. Trying to do anything else in it will just result in a lulzy lossmail
Fit tank to suit
[Pilgrim, TERRIBLE RATTING] Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Tracking Enhancer II Damage Control II
Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrive Magnetic Scattering Amplifier II Large Shield Extender II Large Shield Extender II Invulnerability Field II
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Medium Low Friction Nozzle Joints I Medium Polycarbon Engine Housing I
Hammerhead II x5 Valkyrie II x5 Warrior II x5 Hornet EC-300 x5
400+ dps, not bad, but honestly you should probably think about flying something different.

This is probably the most obvious thing, I never suggested it because the OP asked about a Pilgrim but an Assault frig like Retribution will be far better. DPS should be about the same but it will be a lot cheaper and quicker to skill for.

Simply put. Don't
If you absolutely must use the pilgrim, toss some shield buffer in there and use 3 of the guns you have the best skills in. Should be "okay" for belt ratting.
...Then when you stopped to think about it. All you really said was Lalala. |
