When one can't even fully come out of warp and align at a load up on a gate before a prober can fleet warp it's gang on top of you, and there is absolutely no counter, then you can safely say... "Probes are over powered"

That isn't how probes work. You need to sit in the same location for more than 15 to 20 seconds before you can potentially be probed. More than that, getting probed down on the first scan is quite hard if you don't already know the general location of the person in question.
No... it sounds like some people saw you warping to the same "safespot" one too many times. They probably had the general area bookmarked in case you came back. Pro-tip: Try not to be predictable. _______________________

or, i could land 20km off you in slightly under 5 seconds of you being lockable, pair that with my sensor boosted stiletto and I can have you point in under 6 seconds of you being lockable after coming out of warp. Now consider this set up on a gate camp, between two systems that people are FORCED to use with the new jump bridge mechanics. OP

Actually that is how it works seeing as I do it all the time.
Probes on gate to high sec in low or 0.0 already in position around the gate ready to go.
Enemy ship comes on scanner to scout the gate at a "safe" distance. When the ship shows up on scanner, you begin the probe cycle 8 seconds.
You time it right so that as the ship lands, your timer ends giving you his spot the second he comes out of warp.
You warp to him in less than 2 seconds of him landing. Point and call in support WAY before he has a chance to even think about warping out, or even slowing down from his warp to begin with.
A good prober when you "land" will have you tackled in 2-5 seconds

Probes are ridiculously easy to use in these kind of circumstances where you can set up with probes set to .5au's immediately.
Counters? Bookmarks more than 1au off, check for probes before warping to ongrid/offgrid near safe, etc.

Ships in warp spend a few seconds close to the destination of your warp.. ideally the prober catches the ship 10-20 km before it drops out of warp using good timing.. if you have a decent ceptor pilot aligned you can land your ceptor very soon after the target drops out of warp.
It's really nothing to do with probes, it's to do with the quality of the pilots involved. Competent pilots will kill the incompetent.

If by competent you mean counting "one-thousand, two thousand, three thousand, four thousand", I should hope this isn't the definition.

It is always bad that there is ways to kill people.
Ccp should remove violence and aggression from this game totally.

Remove probes and you'll get same as some years back - mindless gangs of snipers ****ting around. Probes do well balance things.

So why doesn't having probe results determined at the time of initiating the scan work? That way you can't preemptively scan someone's landing spot. Sure it makes it harder to catch people, those bouncing to safes without repeating the same ones near impossible, but it seems to cover most of the issues raised.

Maybe people thinking they should be completely safe while sniping is overpowered? ...Then when you stopped to think about it. All you really said was Lalala. |

Dont worry about these threads guy, its the giant so called Hardcore pvp alliances/corps, that use a unprobable ship to run lvl 4's, if you get caught as a solo sniper, your a baddie and shouldn't be solo, and if you are on top of each other in a fleet, why, spread out.
Again dumb cry baby thread, probably all alts of DHB wildcat or something, you know he has lots of alt.

This will be implemented in the expansion next summer after enough people start to subscribe to EVE to play dress up.

Cool. Make the gate check bm at 140km. Got it.
