Edited by: Pinky Denmark on 21/06/2011 12:21:44 Currently people are exploiting carriers and orcas to prevent losing ships during station warfare.
The tactic is to engage while you have a carrier or orca sitting on a station hugging it so tight it can't be bumped off. If you are suddenly in danger of losing your ship you enter it into the hangar of the carrier/orca which ofcourse has the ability to dock when you want to.
This bypass the 1 minute aggro timer you have for being able to dock the ship up itself and within the current game mechanisms really ruins the game play more than the carrier next to the ship not really being in danger at all.
My solution to this problem: Do not let a player enter his ship into the hangar of a carrier/orca as long it is locked by another player. This should be a similar game mechanism that prevents a player from entering a ship while it is being locked by another player.
Alternatively the 1 minute aggro timer could be in place for entering the ships into the carrier/orca but this seems like a rather difficult aproach.

Okay, I've read it. So, now for the main question. How it's an exploit and why things should be changed?

Placing aggro timer on Orca/Carrier probably won`t give enough time to blow it away before it docks anyway.

Then I don't quite get the part about that ship being locked. Why is this a necessity?

Supported. Zero-risk "PVP" isn't fun.

yeah supported.
Being able to Avoid the 1 minute aggression timer should not be possible.
The aggro timer should carry over to all entities where a session change happens including Jump to Cyno and Wormhols (never had agro at wormhole, does it let you jump through with aggression?)
and if you are reading this you have reached the signature without noticing. |

Make all stations kick-out stations. Have stations emit a dampening field that makes it impossible to lock a target if you were within 15KM of docking range of that station. To be clear, you'd be able to lock a target closer to the station. You would not be able to lock if you were closer than that. No more docking games. No more station games. No more station hugging repping games. Let the fun begin.

You can jump thru a WH even if u have agg-timer. I checked this yesterday when I was camping a WH entrance from hisec.
Edit: Heres the noob I killed: WH Kill

you can jump through fine... trouble is if the wormhole opens to hisec, CONCORD is there waiting for you with cake and ponies...
oh who am I kidding, they're waiting with lots of hurting.

OMG... worst idea ever!
Soo... you guys want to give all the advantage to the station campers? You seriously think it would be a good idea to allow the camper to sit 20k off station and shoot, while anyone who is within 15km can't do jack squat? a 15km **** fest around every station where you can do nothing at all if you happen to be traveling between the 15km point and 0km at the time a hostile warps in? Sheesh... think these ideas through just a little bit more. What about all those times when a ship warps to station and doesn't land right on 0? Just a free kill with no ability to respond? how about the fact that the undock timer may expire before you've traveled all 15 km? You really like the idea of not being able to do anything while fire is being dumped on you?
