Will we be able to change the currency directly from the ISK into the AUR without buying PLEX?
I mean officially, like in a bank of currency exchange or in a something similar.
This link doesn't help

Edited by: Mr Kidd on 21/06/2011 14:31:27 My understanding is that there isn't a direct exchange between aurum and isk. You can't "make" aurum except by converting a plex. So, you could buy a plex with isk and convert to aurum in that manner. Likewise, you can buy your barbie and ken apparel with aurum, sell them for isk.

Edited by: Mister Rocknrolla on 21/06/2011 14:33:00 How about this one?
Also, from the expansion notes:
Quote: Virtual store
Our new virtual store, the Noble Exchange is now accessible through the Station Services. Goods can be purchased from the Noble Exchange using the new currency called Aurum, and you can sell those goods again on the market for ISK. Please check out this dev blog from CCP Zulu for more information. A fashionable collection of classic military clothing has been supplied to the marketplace for both male and female characters. All goods purchased from the Noble Exchange will appear as an item in Items Hangar of your current station. All purchased clothing items in your current hangar will appear in the Character Creator when you re-customize your character. All clothing in the Noble Exchange can be previewed on a 3-D mannequin model via Show Info. Players can now convert PLEX into Aurum via the Noble Exchange. 1 PLEX can be converted into 3500 Aurum at a fixed rate through the Noble Exchange interface. (Multiple PLEX can be converted at the same time). Aurum transactions are logged in the wallet journal. We are temporarily prohibiting the transfer of Aurum between characters. This is done for the sake of a slower, more secure implementation of the feature while the initial economic impact is being analyzed. All clothing in the Noble Exchange can be previewed on a 3-D mannequin model via Show Info.

Just be forewarned, you think plexes are expensive now? Wait until the demand goes up for them because so many people want to play house and dress-up their pixels. Prices will SKYROCKET exponentially...

You can only use PLEX to get AUR. You use AUR to buy clothes/accessories/other and can use it yourself or sell it on the market for ISK.
Insofar as I know, there is no way of trading/giving AUR to someone else directly. We'll all see in a few hours. ------------------------------------------------- Go pod yourself. |

Edited by: Vincent Athena on 21/06/2011 14:34:43 Don't know. You will be able to do it un-securely, via "give ISK" and "give Aurum", at least once CCP turns it on. Aurum will not be on the market as it has no item type representation, its a number in the wallet.
It would be nice if Aurum could be a form of payment in contracts. That would allow money exchange. But last I checked Sisi (before the build got borked for me) it was not.

Absolutely NOT. The whole point of AUR is to make more PLEX disappear.
Later on, you may be able to trade ISK for AUR with a different player (this feature will not yet exist on CQ/Incarna launch), but in order to *create* AUR you absolutely HAVE TO destroy a PLEX in the process. _

That train has left the station. For investing, its "buy on the rumor, sell on the fact". Well the rumor turned into fact a month ago, and that's when the PLEX peaked. If you are still holding on to a large pile of PLEX as an investment, you may well find you got burned.

nah i buy plexes when i need them to re-sub my accounts... but plex prices WILL go up after this watch.. They'll be a lot higher than they are now, but only cause demand is higher but supply is the same if not less.

There may be two ways to trade aur. Both involve another player (or an alt).
1) "send aur" identical to "send isk". This was in the test servers. According to patch notes it has been removed, at least for the moment. It may come back.
2) a contract offering/asking aur (possibly in exchange for items or isk). I did not try this so I do not know if it was on the test servers or not. I heard rumors of it being possible. It does make sense to me. I do not know if it will be released today (probably not).
According to patch notes CCP is currently not going to allow aur trading because they want to monitor the situation first. I think this is stupid and will limit the number of people willing to convert a plex because you will have no way to use leftovers. --- I don't know! I don't know why I did it, I don't know why I enjoyed it, and I don't know why I'll do it again! Bart Simpson. |
