Well i quit playing a few years back, a friend got me back into the game. Just wondering what the best station would be in your opinions to run Level 1 security missions out of while i wait the 12 days for my training to complete for my level 2 ship and skills.

You absolutely can't beet the career tutorials as far as level one missions go. Unless you're trying to grind up standing for a particular corp, I recommend finding the nearest rookie system and running all the career agents. Follow that up with the Sisters of Eve Level 1 epic arc (first agent is Sister Alitura in Arnon).

I don't like the SOE arc because it's a lot of travel time, doesn't pay too well, ends with an impossible mission for players completing it in the shortest time possible, and many of the missions can be done by just running to a cargo container or something like that. It's a boring and meaningless grind, like many things in eve, but it's especially a let-down because it's named "epic" while being very non-epic. :)
However, what worries me about this post is that you said it would take 12d of training to get into ships capable of running 2L2 missions. This isn't true!! Some L2 missions can be run using the same setup as L1 missions. You should be able to fleet with other L1 players to do L2 missions together, also. Finally, you can train up into your first cruiser within 2 days.
To me, the biggest problem with the new player experience is the time required to train frigate 3 in your race. If you're only doing the military tutorial, you have a few hours afterwards when you only have access to a ship that's pretty underpowered for the L1 missions. This really needs fixing, imo. Once you have frig 3, the wait time for a cruiser for your L2 missions is more bearable. I think the gap between L2 and L3 missions is mostly ISK and therefore the severity of that gap depends a lot on how much time you have to grind L2s while you're training for the L3s.
I'm pretty interested in the new player experince, because I'd like to see a lot more players in eve, and this is such a critical time for them. I'm looking for a few people interested in amarr and minmatar races to help out with this experience, so please contact me in game if you're willing to do some research towards this project.

Well i have finished most of the Tutorial missions. Caldari is my Faction i guess so that's what i should be grinding. Interested in more of the security missions. I understand that my Merlin can run some L2 missions, but i have a build for a Carcal that I am training for. Ship+Weapon Upgrades etc... takes a while. Just curious where I will find more agents centralized for easy movement.

if you use eve-agents.com and maps like dotlan (online) or ombeys (pdf) you'll be able to find that out.

In the new captains quarters on the table there is a Agent finder - here you can type in criteria like what corp, level of missions etc and it will find you all the agents that match. It's very a useful feature for new players.
