I for one will wait for an explanation, that was kind of promised.
If it's a good one, I'll succumb to my addiction. If it's not, I'll quit as well. And this has nothing to do with emo rage quit. As it stands I feed CCP a for my taste substantial amount of money via my monthly fee. This item store sets a dangerous example in my opinion. If VANITY items already come at a good 50 bucks, it might as well be, that my cash is used to develop the idea to put essential items in the store for about the same or even more. And I am not going to support that. That is the easy equation for me. It is not that I could not afford spending RL money ontop of my subscription to buy a pvp ship for example. It is just that I do not want to. Eve is worth the 15 Euros I pay every month. Not more.

A mass walk out would never work... at least not with the eve player base, one half don't care and the rest are just "can I haz suff" morons.

I don't like the new interface. I'm not gonna renew my subscription. Old one was really better. It was easier and took less time to fit, review items, and everything what's done in the dock. Bye Ccp.

Take a step back Mother.
I'm right there with you in most respects. The prices in the Noble Exchange caught me quite by surprise as well.
I too thought that this would be an entertaining addition to EVE and talked about it favorably.
I too defended CCP, assuring people that this would be a reasonably priced extra. Not a money grab.
The people in this thread that are saying "if you don't like it, you don't have to buy it" are correct. This is not an issue to quit the game over. However it is an issue worth raising a stink about.
I find it insulting that I am being asked to pay $20 for a virtual shirt if I want to enjoy this addition to EVE.
I find it incredible that I am being asked to pay $70 for a monocle. A MONOCLE!
I find it completely embarrasing that CCP is charging OVER 10X as much as its competitors do for a similar service, and that we are rapidly becoming a laughing stock in the gaming community because of it.
I took a certain amount of pride in the incredible accomplishments CCP has achieved with their game, and I appreciated the vision that drove those accomplishments. So it is with a certain amount of shock that I saw such an incredibly poorly thought out pricing scheme put into play.
I'm not going to stop playing, far from it. But I'm certainly not going to shut up about this incredibly poorly thought out decision until it is corrected.
CCP can take all the risks they like and I'll back them all the way, but I draw the line at publicly embarrasing themselves and their community along with it. ===== The world will not end in 2012, however there will be a serious nerf to Planetary Interaction. |

I guess I'd complain about those vanity items prices cos it seems like a missed opportunity; make them a reasonable price and you would get a lot more sales; I dread to think what all the ship ones will cost, so they'll only get used for gaying about in empire.I'd have bought the odd fun thing now and again, but not at those prices, so it's a missed opportunity I think. And with the make up of EVE players, anyone seen with one of those monacles is gonna get laughed at so much, why wOuld anyone of us buy it?
Incarna is just an expansion that has no content for proper eve players (pvpers) and that makes it three in a row: incarna, incursion and tyrannis.
These players will get bored if you don't give us new toys and sort 0.0 out...what ccp soundwVe said during AT9 needs to happen soon!

The thing that cracks me up about the vanity items for sale is that nobody except you is going to be able to even see those items for a long time, possibly years down the road when we can finally interact with each other in stations. There's no reason at all to buy any of this crap until Incarna is fully realized.
I love you guys who are making your stand now though. The entire concept of selling stuff in game for real money (technically) is utter rubbish and should never have seen the light of day in this game.

Heres two serious thoughts....
1) Im seriously thinking about un-subbing.
2) How do they expect to get new players to sub when 90% of their target market logs in for the first time to discover their computer cannot even handle the captains quarters?
HEY OUR GAME HAS A NOTORIOUSLY DIFFICULT LEARNING CURVE BUT BEFORE YOU EVEN BEGIN, GOOD LUCK NAVIGATING THE CAPTAINS QUARTERS AT 0.5 FPS.
I would immediately quit and never return.

This patch is more than vanity. CCP seems to have single handily completely turned off all bonuses with rigs, mods, implants, etc. Hell they made several people's pirate implants go POOF without fixing it. This patch is a pile of skftur and seems to be a nice example of what CCP has become.

So then the 50k+ pilots currently in game is a sign that peoples comps can't run the game? Maybe some of you should you know - upgrade. 2004 is that away >>>>>

Am considering unsubbing too. Anyone that loves Incarna is a fool who doesnt realise that this is the first step in ruining the game. Yes it might look alright, and its something "new" to eve. But is it really something that eve needs? As a game about spaceships?
How bout more ships, more mods, Jove space? or you guys just wanna walk down to the local space-pub and buy yourselves an e-beer?

Yeah, thatŠs not breaking reality at all.
Let me see on Amazon if I can find a hat that cost the same as a Jumbo Jet. No. DidnŠt find. Sorry, CCP #Fails.

I would not mind paying for an expansion and being able to demand quality, ships, more interesting gameplay battles.
IŠd pay 30 bucks for an EVE expansion that would add 2000 missions and low orbit planetary combat.

Once Incarna is out in completion EVE will flourish off of the influx Second Life players alone. They are not only easier to maintain but they are a kind and gentle people who will pay untold millions for station space RP.

Why do morons continue to bloat out crap like this?
CCP is by far the most expensive MMO out there, even including any expansions you might add to a premium game. The fact you can only have 3 char's pr. account, so you need more account than in any other game even increase how much real life money the EVE custumer pays each month.
But, that's not enough - now the MT is here, and we have to pay an insane subscribtion fee AND a stellar price for any of the MT items AS WELL.
By the way - if we should pay for the "expansions" we could maybe NOT buy them - you know, in all other games, those expansions are OPTIONAL - a word CCP might want to learn about the last 3 CRAP updates.
I have 2 days left of my last account, i have had 6 months breaks before, but i dont think i want to bother returning this time.
CCP, get a %#"%ń#"%"%"%ń"#%"#ń clue.

There is nothing for pve players either. 1 room that does nothing, its not even bloody optional, and less functionality then previous hangar, one could say that this expansion is "full ******". -------------------------------- No sig, is a sig as well. |

EVE's history will now be spoken of the way SWG's is, pre-NGE and Post-NGE.
Incarna is the cataclysm. From now on EVE will be spoken of in Pre-Incarna and Post-Incarna terms.
