Edited by: Mystic5hadow on 01/07/2011 09:35:35 CQ runs around 80FPS without VSync and 60FPS with. Outside of CQ I git 150FPS, give or take 20 or 30FPS depending on what's going on, without VSync, 60FPS with.
My specs are: Intel Core i7 2600K @ 4.5GHz Gigabyte GTX 470 OC'ed EVGA GTX 260 for PhysX 4 Gigs DDR3-1333 Resolution is set to 1680 x 1050.
My CPU hovers around 45-55c. GPU's hit 70 to 90c on the 470 (which is normal, but typically on bigger, detailed, games and maps. Still, nothing out of the ordinary.) and 50c on my 260.
No problems here.
EDIT: Oh yeah, all settings are maxed out. --- The ≡v≡ Online Forums: where all the kiddies go to whine.

Started playing after Incarna, so I have no basis for comparison.
CPU: Intel Core i5 760 @ 2.80GHz OC@ 3.66 (watercooled) RAM: 6.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 770MHz (9-9-9-24) MOBO: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P7P55D-E PRO (LGA1156) GPU: EVGA-SC GTX 470 (stock, aircooled) -Corsair air column tower case, max fans, it moves a lot of air constantly, makes the bizarre GPU spike even odder.
The CQ runs fine, but it spins my fans up to 99% and heat shoots to 72c+ (from avg. 55-60c) in less than a minute. No idea why, no other game does that. Game itself doesn't do that anywhere else either.
Not a big deal for me, though, I actually prefer the static screen. Simple, straightforward, easy to use.
I hope they leave in an option to not load station graphics after they fix it or whatever. Unless they add actual things to do, I guess I might wander around then.

On one client CQ runs absolutely fine with almost everything on max, very smooth framerate, only problem is my gpu sounds like a jet engine after about half a minute. I haven't dared try running two CQ at once yet

Turned if off after 30 min or so but before that:
All effects on at max setting, 1920x1080 res. 60-65 fps with vsync off. Cpu: Intel i5 2500k @ 4.2 ghz Gpu: Nvidia Geforce 560Ti @ 825 mhz (factory overclock) Mem: 8gb at 1333mhz
After only a few min the fans on gpu speed up, I did not check temp but I doubt it where at any danger level. But the speed up fans have too high sound level for me to run that any longer time frames. ---------------------------------------- "Memories are meant to fade. Edited by: Xydonus Xavior on 01/07/2011 10:41:38 Runs perfectly fine for me, typing doesn't have a delay effect for me, but moving items and doing stuff in the hangar as a very small noticeable delay effect. I usually keep it off until I require to customize my character which is the only thing its good for at this point. I keep it turned off though simply because I do find it hard to concentrate with my player avatar just standing/sitting there while I'm doing my business such as hangar sorting or market stuff. Since its just using up unnecessary amounts of hardware resources I might as well turn it off.
So CCP, bring back the ship spinner! Or something a little less annoying than a door...

I play on 2 computers, my main at home and another stashed at a friends house for LAN EVEnings (Nicknamed "The Clunker")
Main ---- Core2Duo 3.2GHz/1333, 4GB PC2-6400, ATI HD5770, Win7, 1920x1200 all video settings maximised. Undocked: Smooth as silk, cant say I noticed any difference pre-incarna except for the turrets and slightly darker UI colours. CQ: Runs smooth as well tbh, no complaints.
Clunker ------- Core2Duo 2.4GHz/1066, 4GB PC3-10600, Onboard Intel Video, 1280x1024, mostly medium settings, low shader quality. Main game smooth (after lowering settings) but looks blocky but it is good enough to play on. CQ runs like a slideshow, I turned it off as it slowed down UI windows, particularly noticed it when opening the fitting window.
Conclusion ---------- No major problems with CQ. Yeah, slideshow on the rubbish PC but then the motherboard was ú35 delivered with onboard video and sound, I am surprised it atually runs EVE at all let alone to a level where I can play. I am sure a ú50 video card would sort it. 2 more PCs I have looked at with simmilar spec to the main, both run without issues also.

C2D E6750 (2.66ghz iirc) 2gig ddr2 ati 1gig 5750 160gb sata 1 hdd <- OS and second client live here 1tb sata 2 hdd <- client 1 lives here with all my other games
I usually run eve dual client, fixed full screen windows on my two monitors 1st client @1680x1050 all settings max aa at 2x i think 2nd client @1250x1080 (something like) most settings on medium, no aa, I'll usually have iplayer or something playing in an overlay on this screen aswell
typically i get a smooth 60fps in space, in cq with only client 1 running i got 25-40 fps (no ty), with settings on medium it was about 40-60 (nice!).
Also, loading times were perfectly fine, and my system didnt catch fire \o/
I havnt tried dual clienting cq, because at this point i turned it off, I DO NOT want to make my internet space ships look worse to make cq run smoothly, I have no doubt it will run fine on my system with both clients on low, but IMO we really need a seperate set of graphics options for cq.
What I would like to do keep my current settings in space, have client 1 load CQ@ medium settings when I dock, and have it turned off permanently on my alt, FYI I dont hate cq, I do think that currently it is pretty "meh" and dosnt add anything too the game, I'm pretty excited about what might be added too it, but I'm worried it could be like many other potentially cool features.. 3 years down the line we'll still be wondering where the rest of it is.

I'm have a lot of trouble with only one client open (reasonable spec pc with nvidea 260 card).
This new eve client seems to crash a lot. Just now I have failed to load station five times in a row and the game keeps crashing intermitently. This may be due to overheating the GPU, I don't know?
Is anyone else haveing the same problems I have?
PS I do have a decent PC, but it only has standard air cooling e.g. no liquid nitrogen etc.

Besides i dont believe ccp cares what their customers computers specs are.
How ever CQ is lag fest, first login... took 10 seconds and client crashed, second loging... deactivate station enviroment. Been fine ever since as long as i dont try something like multiboxing.... * Revolution changes worlds * CCP, players are watching, no empty promises. |
