This thread is useless.
this thread is "The first thing i did with the captains quarters was" you missed the point , also your whining about a whine thread that isnt a whine thread ,by stating you dont have time for threads like this when you obviously do, so just state the first thing you did in cq and try and add some more positive reviews since theres only been about 5 in the last 5 or 6 pages of comments .

Edited by: Thercon Jair on 22/06/2011 12:09:05 Sooo.. uhm.. what do you guys expect? CCP is doing the right thing from a corporate perspective:
Make eve accessible to a greater audience -> make more money -> increase revenue
It's not like they can decide everything on their own. Eve is owned by multiple shareholders/investors, and in 2006 or 7 the revenue was just above 25%. With the trend of bigger and bigger revenues for investors (no, you can't stop that trend, it's a vicious circle, corporations need to cater to their investors of they scurry off with their money to better opportunities, i.e, more revenu) you just can't expect anything else. Currently, I'm pretty sure CCP's revenu is 35% plus. Guess how it's going to look in a couple years?
Guess why some corporation like "evil" EA is the biggest games publisher worldwide. Look at their games: there's like 1 bloody dungeon design that's used for all dungeons in titles such as Mass Effect 1+2, Dragon Age 1+2. Minimise production time, maximise profits. And hey, they're the most successful company, despite everyone hating them. That's how you do it.
So, stop moaning to CCP and start moaning to your politicians to change some incredibly stupid rules/mechanics of today's exchange that were introduced in the 70ies and 80ies, which basically only advance speculation, instead of investment (and since speculations usually yield much higher profits investment opportunities need to "ramp it up" to stay attractive. Did you know about 80% of today's transactions are speculations? Guess why that nice depression happened).
Oh, actually, don't go and moan to your politicians. Most of the people aren't even interested and rather moan about evil foreigners that make their life hard because politicians and the media directs them to this conclusion too (the media "only" struggle to survive too, trying to get as many people as possible to read the paper). Then, of course, most of those politicians have a very strong economical interest since they happen to be some CEO/ex-CEO, and you have your hordes of lobbyists talking to the people you (maybe) voted for. Now, hmmm.. who has more influence? The people (who themselves have an economical interest of keeping their jobs, which gets used. All the time.), or the "economy"?
Oh, did I also mention, even IF you actually succeed and the rules get changed in your country. Don't worry, all the corporations will just be forced to be listed in another countrie's main exchange.

Walked around for a few seconds. Noticed the terrible controls - no strafing CCP? Really? - and the abysmal shiny:performance ratio.
And then turned it off.

its not a bad 1.0 but its got a ways to go ....
no straffing, no running/jogging to get to ship....
MOST OF ALL: No remembering where i was before i undocked!!!!!, I would have left incarna on if i docked and immidiately was back at my couch where i undocked from... why? because i dont want to walk back to the screens every time!!!!!
OK Not most of all... most of all is "i'll reenable Incarna once we get multiplayer and actual function" right now eve incarna is just a small prison, its a waste of such great promise so far.
Disabled It For now

Wow, 25% ROC is a pretty damn good figure, if that is what you are refering to. But I don't know where you get the idea that the market rate of return is increasing; as far as i know the capital to labour yeild quote has remained fairly constant during the 1900s.
You should also read up on marketing, market segmentation and positioning. Catering to a big audience can be a corporate suicide. Many brands survive and thrive as they focus on a specific market segmant.

where do you come up with that stuff?
actually shareholders don't, and generally... do not want to (with the exception of obvious cases like the ceo's paid in shares) ... run a company..(
also the Revenue??! I assume you are referring to profit? So you are saying that CCP effectily increases in size by 35% each year?
tell you want don't even bother replying

When the 27hrs to download patch is complete, I won't even allow it to load, I'll turn it off as I log in, get in a ship a blow lots of innocent noob pilots back into their CQs just to relieve the stress of not being able to even log in for over 2 days. And no it's not my net connection, I've tested it by downloading other stuff and it goes at full speed! I'm currently getting 48Kbps, 12 hrs so far and not even 50% downloaded! I am very f'in frustrated.

Wait, did I do this thread wrong?
How do you sit on your couch? I found that I was wishing I could just sit down for a moment.
I walked around... checked out all the controls. Thought... okay this is cool. It has potential, but it is just a start.
Wish my place were a bit bigger. Wish I had more stuff to interact with (where the LP store, the repair store, the market screen, all that stuff in the upper right).
I probably won't turn it off... but then I have a brand new gaming rig. I'm glad they have the option to turn it off though. It's nice for the old hardware.
And though I hate to burst the reality bubble... 200 people in a thread saying they are turning it off, is not enough to move any mountains. Even if 5% turn it off... that's still 95% who leave it on. Still it's good they gave you the option.
