My specs are simple:
Dell XPS M1710 Laptop Windows 7 Ultimate (upgraded from Vista) 2 GB RAM GFX: Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GS
I was able to run Eve fine for years on this system.
After the Incarna patch I can log in, select my character and then, when trying to load the station after character selection, it crashes. CCP .exe just goes boom.
I lowered all graphics setting to absolute minimum, turned off the station, removed clothes simulation etc. Nada. Still crashes.
I tried repairing and also reinstalling eve with fresh settings. No dice.
Any solution to this other than investing in a new computer? Because dishing out cash for a new system just because the latest Eve update made my machine useless is kind of ridiculous. A warning would have been nice. I wouldn't have renewed my subscription or invested in Plex. At least until I can justify buying a new computer for a better reason than just Eve compatibility.
CCP, y u make me spend lots of moneys? Computer was fine.

Yep, my friend have the same problem. CCP.exe hangs after character select. Clearing cache doesn't help, full re-intsalling and re-patching too. Repair tool says that all right. System Windows 7 Ultimate x86. EVE:Incursion perfect worked before. Need Help!

Originally by: ScreenWipe Have you tried reseting the cache? Settings → Reset settings → Clear all cache files ( i would recommend this after every patch)

So, temporary solution is: 1) login via another computer, where all works fine 2) dock out in space 3) login via your computer 4) while you are in space, go to settings, graphical settings, in right column clear station loading. 5) you can to dock in.

Happens to me even if i turn off the station environment. I even managed to look at the lame wall that loads when entering the station. For about 3 seconds. Then it crashed again.
About the suggestion to try this: http://support.eveonline.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=405
How would changing the network port for Eve help with resolving the client crash? Seems unrelated.
Anyhow, I have filed a tech support petition with my dxdiag attached. Perhaps they will respond to it. Some day. :)
Until then: unsubscribed from eve. Don't want to accidentally pay another month without a working client and no PC alternative.
