To summarize the Issues with the Eve-Mac-Client after the Incarna Patch, i've asked my dear friend david at the Eve Online Celebrity Meeting 2011

Does that mean they should just abandon the Mac-Client or they should just Abandon that Cider/Transgaming Abomination and start getting real (native)?

Well Ian, while I do miss being able to play in the sexy OSXness, I am won over playing at 50+fps in big battles, and the game running better than it has in like three years of Cider. I don't think that CCP should abandon a native mac version at all- in fact, that's the only logical solution. until then though, I am impressed with ppl who put up with the Cider bull****, as this really shows me how awesome the game is.

They have not enough resources to get native and even if they would have I doubt that it is worth the trouble. I still would like to see eve going native mac. Still Cider works (sometimes), what they should do is put more effort into making it work always. Why a forum in the year 2011 still has no automatic double post merge which can be done even with javascript mostly is beyond my understanding. |
