Hey folks, been here for almost a month now. When I initially started the game, I wanted to get into mining, since it was easier, which I did. Got my first account with a retriever Mining Barge, and my 2nd account was hauling and I got to an Iteron IV. Well, Since there wasn't much to hauling, I started mission running with my 2nd account while waiting for my skills to train on my first account getting into Mining Barges.
Long story short, while running missions with my 2nd account, I found that I'm really really enjoying mission running. I've got myself into an Omen with the Recommended certificates about 2 days from being completed. I don't know what to do with my other account now. To me, mission running has become alot more fun that mining.
I guess my question is, what should I do with the second account? Just let it sit until I feel like mining at some point? I thought about taking them both through missions together, but I think it would be too hard to try and fight with both ships at a time. If I was to run missions with them both, what would be the best setup for either supporting my Omen or making it a drone boat?
I dont' know to be honest what to do with it. Just looking for suggestions. I dont' know enough about the game yet to really ask specific questions about this if you can't tell.

Use the mining account to train up to fly a Noctis and salvage all the stuff you get in the missions or to get into another mission ship so missions go even faster

Noctis, sorry, is that a mining barge? Or are you saying train for that, and use it to salvage while I'm mission running?

Alt in a noctis for salvaging is a great use for an alt account. If you fleet and share the mission rewards the alt will eventually be able to accept missions as well.. allowing you more room to reject bad missions or get more done without docking :)
Also train up scrapmetal reproc so you can melt all your loot into mins and build your own ammo to save more isk too :)

Wow, didn't know how lucrative salvaging was. I just ran a mission, the payout was around 120k, but I made 1.5mil in salvaging. I just bought a catalyst for now, I didn't have the 48mil to drop on a Noctis yet. Either way, I'll never mission run without a salvager toon again.
Thanks for the advice on that.

Don't. If you're new to missioning, you'll quickly get to a point where you'll realize that salvaging isn't worth your time in every single case.
- missions with lots of small wrecks (frigates) will give little to no valuable salvage - missions with spread out wrecks or multiple rooms can take very long to salvage - missions that take you long to complete (think L4s just as you have started flying a BS) may mean your wrecks despawn before you can salvage
Obviously you're pretty efficient when doing this with two accounts, but my impression so far has been that until you're doing L4s, missioning + salvaging nets less ISK/hour than just blitzing missions, especially L3s. Your salvaging account will come in handy when you're doing L4s as the salvage there truly is worth it.

I agree with the noctis. I have done it for quite awhile now myself. you really get efficient at it once youve memorized all the lvl 4 missions. you can get all aggro and then warp your noctis in and salvage as you are killing. Of course you have to know the missions to ensure there are no groups that spawn (learned that the hard way). another good idea is to keep the alt as an industry char, train him up in mining and production/research skills. and the other a combat/mission runner. then you have 2 chars that cover alot of different career options for later down the road when you get burnt out on missions. Hope this helps some

What he said ^^
I fly with my alt now on missions with a noctis while i do the pew pewing in my mega, it saves so much time doing it that way opposed to killing stuff, going back to station, switch ships, go salvage. Plus now i can do lvl5's i can start sharing the standings and have 2 places from which to draw future missions from.
Also training your alt in all things industrial is a good thing too, especially for salvaging your loot ect. Main for killing, 2nd for cleaning up.
Works for me for now
