- It allows you to interface with the game exactly the way you used to (eg. all the neocom buttons are still there in the station, you don't need to move one pixel in station -- instead of staring at your ship, which you do all the time in space anyway -- you're staring at your avatar)
- It is the beginning of a more expansive sci-fi game. CQ is obviously a testbed to allow CCP to iron out issues before opening up full-blown station interactivity. The more expansive EVE gets, the better.
- It attracts more players. There are many potential players out there that have a hard time relating to themselves in the game as nothing more than a space ship. Incarna bridges that gap for a lot of people. I personally know three people that have subbed up to EVE specifically because of Incarna. I personally know zero that it has driven away.
- EVE can be a slow game at times (which I appreciate, haha). Incarna and its future iterations offer more involvement in a universe many of us have grown to love. This gives us more things to do while waiting for the Next Big Space Battle.
The chorus of wailing I hear seems to come from people that either don't understand they can still interact with EVE exactly the way they have been, or from people that think the Aurum items are too expensive -- I agree, they are. So? DON'T BUY THEM. Problem solved. None of this impacts the EVE you're used to playing. Incarna doesn't change EVE gameplay.
CQ promises to open EVE to a whole bunch of new players, doesn't change the way the game is been played, and has the potential to offer new avenues of entertainment as it opens up further.
I'm sorry there are some out there that get bent out of shape that they now see an avatar when they dock instead of their ship. If that's cause enough for those people to emo-quit, they were ready to quit anyway and were just looking for an excuse. --

Um you know the patch deactivated all bonus rigs, modules, implants, destroyed pirate implants, missile bonuses gone, drone bonuses gone and CCP is quiet. How is this a step in the right direction?

Can you post your petition with the elements that make you say such thing?
I haven't seen a difference when shooting with my tengu or my cane, and yes they are all rigged (t2 for tengu) and all t2 fitted. No problem at all.

Why don't you go away already? Moronic noob. The vets are the people who made this game what it is today, except for all the CCP blunders with the past few expansions all they've been doing is driving into the ground for people like YOU. It makes me sick, so you GTFO.

You must have ignored all the other threads here and in mission & complexes with people having the same issues. My corp logged off in mass (mostly we're amarrr) because our cap recharge bonuses are not working and we can't keep a simple tank going. Its like we have no skills in it at all.

-- OP could be right but I dont see alot of hate for CQ. I see more threads talking about all the rage that isn't there than I see rage that is. I see alot of flame threads, troll threads, attempts to start anti CQ arguments. I see very few initiated "I Hate CQ" threads. I don't include stuff like Drone damage bugs. Those arent anti-CQ. They are just bug threads. |

I don't see this as a first step. This to me looks more like a demo or proof of concept. I mean you can walk a total of 50 feet in a hallway and have no other functionality or features added to the game. Ok that's not bad considering it was "free". But to say it's a first step is a stretch.
I think most people expected when walking in stations debuted to have an actual reason game play wise or feature wise to actual use walking in stations. If this was really a first step they should have held off till there was actually something on the other side of the door. As it is now I'm betting a large percentage of people disabled 95% of this "expansion" with a single menu click and will never miss it game wise.

How cute, newcomer. We guys are waiting for some bugfixes for 5 years or so. it will never come, only thing that'll come is more way to get your $ from your wallet to ccp's.
To OP: Dude, I can understand someone in the world thinks CQ and having his character walks around is fun stuff. But hey dude, this is not Eve, this is not what will make the guys stay in Eve...

I'm straight-up saying it now.
PLEX and AURUM effect each and every one of us, directly or indirectly.
microtransactions MESSES the market up really badly when real-money is allowed to effect ANYTHING on the in-game market. If the market is effected, you are too.
Join the unified voice and denounce microtransactions of any kind. CCP has not given an adequate reason for having microtransactions at all, anywhere in the game. And the Bologna of "we need to pay people to create custom stuff" is quite rubbish. We have customizable corp logo's. We have customizable medals. Why can't we have customizable paint and clothes? Why can't CCP just support the in-game economy instead of trying to tie it to people's wallets?

I hate to burst your bubble but that was done years ago. I have 5 Accounts. $15 x 5 is $75 a month. I could just as easy buy 2 x GTC for $70, Plex an account and sell the other 3 PLEX and have 10 billion ISK in 6 months plus anything I made in game. The only thing stopping me is I prefer to play the accounts rather than go for the I-Win button. |

Well your point has been made, good for you, I Still believe this is a STOMA INDUCED WOUND IN THE COLON of the Community. And despite your cheerful optimism, I hope, oh I do hope, the day comes when you finally leave the game with your gameplay turned to ashes saying to people like me you just leaving becuase you have "RL" Issues only to not give me the sweet delightful reason. That's my point. Hope you have read it, and good for me.

Woa, people here seem to be deluded. We don't want a Rollback, why people FAIL at this?
I for once welcome change, what you all fail to realize is the lack of Ship Spninning streamlining, not the mockery of the current psycho room we have shoved down our throats.
You sir are misinformed. We want OPTIONS, not static nothingness, We welcome change but not the weird out of the Z axis movements involved in many of changes of direction CCP is taking.
Alternate Station Environment would practically quell a huge swathe of the rage. If you want huge automaton dress dolls as you jerkily punch buttons in an inneficient way and pay real top dollah for an earring of homoerotism, good for you man, I applaud you, WE want CHOICE, the choice of not loading Incarna thats all, heck, if it were up to me they could literally fill the shop full of G strings and soiled boxers that emanate fumes of reekness for all I care. Just give choice BACK, not force Incarna upon us nor let us see a FUGLY door which is "temporary".
Why so many counter whiners dont even inform themselves, you are like in the same category with your ignorance as the whiners that whine for the sake of whining. Both sides of the same coin. ---Archipelago Theory---
