From what iv seen so far, the majority of the incarna whine threads have been in regards to the graphic load that CQ puts on your machine. It seems that rather than seeing the game evolve and progress(requiring better hardware to run), people would like to see Eve stagnate and die. I'd like to point such people to the statement "adapt or die". It is not CCP's fault that you have decided not to upgrade your machine since 2006. This is a formal request to those who refuse to upgrade. Quit quietly and not scare off new players to a game you don't play anymore.
Thank you

CQ doesn't offer the graphics quality for the performance hit its gives, hence the complaints. Plenty of games can show you entire maps at double the FPS with better graphics quality on top of that.
Also, most threads aren't about performance issues so you really should try reading them again.

1. Eve works
2. Patch happens
3. Eve does not work/Computer is broken.
Totally not the patch fault.

hi, CQ isn't a part of gameplay, its just a new docking hanger that takes about 5 times the system resources as the old one, im not against upgrades but make it optional. i mean, the new ship turrets dont lag my system large mining ops work fine lvl 4 mission op? fun, lag free Docking request requested lag request excepted.... why? gimme old hanger, it was simple, looked good, and worked on medium~high end systems perfectly.

Has any CCP patch EVER worked smoothly after the first two days? give them some time. Oh and everything seems to be working fine for me, where is eve "not working" for you

I don't know. Eve worked fine on both of my computers. Then I installed this patch, now only 1 computer can play it. Thanks for your post. I now see that it is all my fault.

the problem is terrible i dont haver an old machine and neither do alot of people who are experiencing stupid problems,
if i run one client i use around 780mb of ram and 35% cpu when in stations
run second client (something ive doen for a long time) and that client uses 1.2 gig ram in the same station as the first client and cpu jumps to 80% accross all 4 cores
the expansion is broke that pretty much sums it up and all for a stupid room no one wants or needs
way to go ccp

The "stupid room" as you call it, is the ground work for what will be full WIS features that i believe this forum has been crying about for years.
Also, does nobody appreciate immersion anymore?

I can load down my machine by setting graphics too high in other games and my computer doesn't go crazy, reboot, or cause weird graphical glitches. Normally FPS just drops. With Incarna my computer chokes out and fails. My hardware isn't even that bad:

We dislike badly done code.
The load and performance is way out of par for what you get. If it's hitting 100% use of cpu and gpu with only one avatar walking around.. it's going to melt even the high end cards when it's WIS with multiple avatars.
They released an alpha (to be nice) version of the engine in order to make cash with the over priced vanity items (and when that don't work, they will likely add skill points, ships, etc )

If people with quad cores and dual graphic cards are having trouble, this means Something Is Amiss With The Patch. Especially given the fact the CQ runs OK on my 5 year-old PC for some reason. I doubt MY antique computer is in any way technologically superior to a quad core with two fancy graphics cards.

I change my machine every three years like clock work, that said I do run two 23" monitors off it at a reasonable high resolution which in itself will cotribute to any strain on the GPU.
I found CQ to run rather hot when I first tried it too. That said people should have a look to see what optimizations they can do themselves. If your ventilation is poor and your reasonably technically confident you may want to consider taking out your graphics and cleaning it, I know I had to do that fairly recently to play the latest dawn of war release in order to clean of the heat sinks. Also have a read of any manufacturer documentation you can.
But if people find they do struggle with performance any data they can send to CCP will help them target their efforts and improve optimisation. I think people should look at this thread and send in their info, it can only help improve WiS and the earlier they get the info the less impact it will have on other features.
Happily I've been able to get my NVIDIA GeForce 240 GTS on side a little more and turn WiS back on (albeit running the GPU at between 80 and 85 degrees currenly) but the biggest problem I seem to face when looking to improve my graphics card seems to be that a lot of the newer ones seem to take up the size of 2 slots, which physically wouldn't fit into my box.
(If anyone can offer advice for a newer single slot sized graphics card that would help in running multiple clients it's be appreciated.)

To be honest I've not noticed any problems with CPU but I use an i7 which seems to think it has 8 cores, but the GPU seems to be the kicker for me. Now my computer will run the CQ on multiple clients at full graphics, but it does so hot and with a lot of noise which isn't great for the longevity of your graphics card.
Factors like screen resolution, number of monitors and the number of clients you use do come into play so it's perfectly possible under certain circumstance for a less powerful graphics card to run EVE better than more powerful ones depending on the rest of the set-up.

its the groundwork for full on walking in stations which was said to be optional from the beginning, its a sandbox, and i rather not be forced to play it CCP's way. no one thinks CQ is bad, we just think CQ is bad when its forced to be used. i think i wanted to use CQ for a total of 10 minutes since release, to lol watch TV in station, but instead im forced to sit there every time i dock or stare at a doorway.

I dont know about other people, but I'm able to play EVE, in CQ, with 2 clients at the same time and maintain a high frame rate. I missioned in one client and had the other in CQ and had a high Frame rate. My graphics were awesome (kudos to CCP). I have a dell XPS 420 with a NVIDIA - GeForce GTS450 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express Graphics Card and have experienced no slowdown in performance - oh, and I can play Champions Online at the same time with all three clients up and running with graphics at max settings. And WoW as well. No loud fan noise, no additional stress.
So if you have something better than me and your coputer is hurting, I dont know what to tell ya...But I got mine custom made for gaming so maybe there is a bunch of **** in it that allows me to play with 3 or more clients at a time.

Maybe, I was thinking the NVIDIA GeForce GT 440 or EVGAs GeForce GT 520 as this seems to be the highest of the single slot NIVIDA based cards I've seen but wasn't sure how much omph it would give me over my current card.
I'm no expert on graphics cards I tend to be more software orientated so NASA is a good a start as anywhere for me.

I for one was looking forward to this patch, my machine runs it great...but why in the hell did they force players to use it?
When you park ya car on the drive or garage do u suddenly appear in ya living room? its all down to options...options are good.
The other thing that peaple are not happy with is the vanity prices/ and future path this is going down.
If you HAD read through the threads u would know this already, but alias reading the titles of the threads is not reading them.

my pc is working fine im not talking about crap performance but over 2 gig of ram in use for 2 eve clients is bull
and 80% of cpu usage, i mean i used to run bf2124 and eve at the same time and never noticed any problems
for one client to use almost twice as much ram as the other is just plain ****ed it doesnt make sence
it means ccp ****ed up

Today I played Call of Duty, After that I played GTA IV. Later I enjoyed Battlefield F4P. I also went nuts in Age of Conan - another mmo but without spaceships.
All the games had maxed their settings (more and less). All the games ran with no lag, no stuttering, with high fps.
An hour ago: EVE Online - I sit in my CQ on the couch, watching TV, doing nothing. The whole world around me is lagging like crazy. Sound is stuttering. FPS going up and down.
I suddenly smell something burning. The smell is from my computer. Is CQ cooking my graphic card?
Escape-button and adios.
