You do know that CCP Ohwell is NOT an actual CCP employee, he's a twitter troll. Yes, humorous at times, but just a twitter troll.

'NO, are you mad? you can't do this to my game, i love to play it and this would totally spoil it, we can't monetize third party apps now after all the community has done, we can't add MT for items in a new release of eve after they already pay a sub which allowed us to design and develop the expansion to begin with, and we certainly can't destory our player run market by adding in MT items that our players can not build for themselves'
was there no one in ccp that was opposed to this?
i cast a vote of no confidence with ccp
my real worry now is that years of delvelopment and money have been push into this,. and even if ccp were to turn around and address these issues, eve is in for some hard times over the comming year or so, to which i hope it recovers, but hope is all i have.
... +1 ... have been thinking the same thing.

How much do the VCs own, CCP?

Thanks for having the stones to make that post.
I'd like to resub and support the game in general, but:
1. only if I'm supporting the game in general, NOT vanity items. Paying a monthly fee is the price I thought it was worth paying to not be nickel and dimed for items that were being sold for rl cash. Play for free MMO's do this. You want us to pay monthly, and pay again for virtual goods and services? NO DEAL.
2. as the CQ is just a display case for vanity items, make it optional like you promised originally. Look back at the last 150 pages of posts. How many people are happy about it? If you take a look at that and still decide it needs to be forced down peoples' throats, then NO DEAL.
3. Stop the hardon with upgrading graphics, all the time. Refocus on fixing issues that are broken or that people are unhappy with. If I can't see the launch tube on missile launcher in high definition, the universe will not end. Especially if instead of upping the graphics engine (again) maybe some effort were put into things the players think need attention. Heed the posts of people here; they're not angry without good reason. If you cannot do this, I, among others, cannot send you money again.
Here's hoping you take these posts seriously. Being from swg, I've got I serious case of pessimism that anything will go in the direction that's pleasant.

CCP FAIL.
Read why from the Editor of the Fearless, infamous newsletter.
And it couldnÆt come at a better time. As EVE edges closer to being the grand dame of gaming, turning 8 years old this month, and our other game titles continue their prodigious growth (yes, World of Darkness too û you got the t-shirt to prove it), our development road map is shaping up stronger and better. However, as a subscription based golden goose, EVE needs to incorporate the virtual goods sales model to allow for further revenue û revenue to fund our other titles, revenue for its developer: you. The model also supports the notion of creating a meaningful experience and identity for the player (more in our main feature on page 4).
Get out now unless you support beta testing and paying for their development of titles they still care about (not EVE)
Whoever wrote that needs to be fired. Pronto. GTFO away from my game!

Please don't fire anybody over this: that would be absolutely ridiculous. Welcome to the N-a-z-i party if Soundwave loses his job over this.
I just want the old hangar view back, with a [disembark] button that takes me to my captains quarters. At this point, the old UI (neocom) will be gone until you're back in the pod (follows game lore). Also, please move the pod off of the balcony and into its own room.
I don't care about the NEX as long as it's for vanity items only. Also, you should explain more clearly that everything in the game can be considered to be on an MT market since we have PLEX ($ for ISK).
That's all. Good luck with this CCP, I hope you can walk out of it alive.

I say, truely make the CSM the voice of the community tehy are suposed to represent and stop having them be barricaded in their movement to do their jobs.
We try and communicate with the players as much as possible. Sure, there are some things that are NDA, and (alas) there are things like the virtual goods pricing strategy (or, for that manner, <insert recent CCP screwup here>) where CSM was simply not consulted. But outside of those limitations, we do the best we can.
Similarly, we convey both our personal opinions and player opinions to people in CCP. Some are receptive to the outside perspective, some are not.
As for what you should do to best express your opinion of recent events in New Eden, all I can tell you is that CCP pays more attention to what you do than what you say.
TRUTH BE TOLD!!!
I cannot unsub, cause I pay with PLEX and timecodes. But you can expect 3 accounts to expire within 20 days if CCP doesn't change path drastically! If I was able to, I'd unsub to set a mark, but I cannot :( PM me if you have any other idea on how to "do" something. Thanks. ---------

I find it rather interesting that instead of coming to us, they went straight to an on-line publicist. On top of that, they've known this internal newsletter was leaked for days, and only after they go to the "press" do we find out, "Oh hey, bee tee dubs that was only part of the actual newsletter!". You would think when CCP Pann confirmed it's authenticity, she would have mentioned the fact it was just a small portion of a much larger picture?
Am I saying it's impossible for that to be the case? No. But with CCP's well-publicized track record of how they handle things (smearing K-man during the t20 incident rather than owning up to it immediately comes to mind), and their curent lies, I wouldn't put it past them to doctor this kind of "evidence" to try to calm the flames. ***** ***** ***** *****

Well you can try to explain why. Instead of it. It would be actually far more productive.
Nerves are frayed, some are tired, many have done the explanation many times and are simply tired of doing it. Doubt they meant anything personal by it.
The main over riding issue is that micro-transaction items require virtually no input from the sandbox to create. For example, a ship magically created removes all the potential game play that the production of that ship would have required from the sandbox.
This removal of game play, of value, is taken from the noob miner to the 0.0 miner, to the can flipper to the hot dropper and his 23 SuperCap friends out on a Sunday afternoon drive. Each micro-transaction created item takes a tiny bit from everyone, as more and more MT items are created, those tiny bits add up until the sandbox has no meaning.
Purely cosmetic vanity items, although they could have an impact on certain aspects of the sandbox, they have a far less value at a mechanical level, and thus, have far less mechanical impact on the sandbox.
Although some argue PLEX is a micro-transaction, this is demonstrably false. The ISK for which that PLEX is sold, was collected by someone in the game doing whatever it is they do. Thy put forth an effort and got a reward of ISK. They then trade that ISK for a PLEX. The guy who sold the PLEX now has the ISK, and the other guy has the PLEX. Nothing was added or removed from the sandbox, except the need for one or both of them to break the EULA. CCP profits and the players profit from PLEX.
The only ones who profit from MTs are CCP, and they do so not only at the expense of the $Cash spender, but of everyone in the game that now no longer has the opportunity to participate in the creation of the MT created items.
MTs are theft.

From what I saw at ff this year, ineptitude. ------------------------------------------------ There is no such thing as good or evil. Just an egotistic struggle for self empowerment. ------------------------------------------------ |

-Future of MT in EVE
You need to make a crystal clear statement about the future role of MT in EVE and what we can actually expect will be included in the subscription fee in the future and what won't be included.

I want to toss this is real fast.
Gamers these days feel like tools. Not people. That's how we're so commonly treated.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution has this nasty gold glow on everything. When videos of that showed up there was less outrage than what I see here, and you know what they did? Posted a YouTube video and said, "we listened to you. The glow on useable objects is now an option. We don't agree with it due to story telling, but you're the fans, you're the customers, so we listened."
That week I pre-ordered DE: HR. A company that listens to me? Sold.
Listen to us CCP. We're people. We're not wallets you can take all you want from. Respect us, listen to us, UTILIZE THE CSM, and you'll find undying loyalty.
Throw these things in our face? Lie to us? Your customer base will reflect those actions.

Notice a trend here? I don't see very many posters saying I am going to cancel my account. I am seeing what appears to be an average of 2-5 accounts per poster. I thought I was extreme with 2.
So when you see 30,000 "players" logged on TQ all the time, what you are seeing is 10,000 actual people (or so, too lazy to find the actual figures)
Already there are hundreds of accounts cancelled, the longer you do not respond CCP you are causing the exodus to mount into a full on panic. Are you really gambling the loss of 10-30% of your actual players by remaining silent, or, like us, you are a complete loss, as to what to say after reading something you have a hard time coming to grips with?

This is pretty spectacular that they can't commit to posting on a 1-day schedule.
I am entirely unconvinced they can use Alliance Tournament as a shield to protect the evildoers pushing this forward, since this thread is getting more attention than even the good Alliance Tournaments ever did, let alone IX.
I also don't agree with all the people demanding CCP have some mouthpiece to come out stating that they won't move beyond vanity AUR items. They can always change their mind afterwards, or claim that the person was just offering an opinion.
What they need to do now is simple:
Put a clause in the EULA committing to never placing an item in the AUR store that can affect another character.
That way, if you change your mind down the line, we'll know without somebody having to leak an internal newsletter.
