News flash to all you people, Icelanders are arrogant, so are yanks. Also both living in their own virtual dream world bubbles.
That much should be clear by now.

Yep. Sounds like they just want to focus on a dumb console fps and a Twilight mmorpg. They don't want to spend time fixing Eve so they are going to milk ever last penny out of the community before it collapses to fund their other projects.

This is just THE START, they are going (or dreaming about) reaming in MUCH MORE money than all your subscriptions.
They think you see Eve as more important than your lives.
So far up to this point, HE IS RIGHT, his plan is working. That is what he is watching, tnose numbers. Not all the noise on here.

Well CCP - I wish I had know this whole attitude towards us *before* I had taken the special $20 for 2 months resub deal, because i wouldn't have bothered. Thanks for sharing just how you feel about all of us paying customers. kkthnkzbai...

Well, console players *are* easier to handle - when you're used to dealing with Sony and MS, how bad can CCP be?
On the positive side, TF2 is free now! And they have hats!

Hey CCP Pann, let me ask you something. What's your position about this?
________
sent by hilmar to ccp global list-
(strt)
We live in interesting times; in fact CCP is the kind of company that if things get repetitive we instinctively crank it up a notch. That, we certainly have done this week. First of we have Incarna, an amazing technological and artistic achievement. A vision from years ago realized to a point that no one could have imaged but a few months ago. It rolls out without a hitch, is in some cases faster than what we had before, this is the pinnacle of professional achievement. For all the noise in the channel we should all stand proud, years from now this is what people will remember.
But we have done more, not only have we redefined the production quality one can apply to virtual worlds with the beautiful Incarna but we have also defined what it really means to make virtual reality more meaningful than real life when it comes to launching our new virtual goods currency, Aurum.
Naturally, we have caught the attention of the world. Only a few weeks ago we revealed more information about DUST 514 and now we have done it again by committing to our core purpose as a company by redefining assumptions. After 40 hours we have already sold 52 monocles, generating more revenue than any of the other items in the store.
This we have done after months of research by a group of highly competent professionals, soliciting input and perspective from thought leaders and experts in and around our industry. We have communicated our intention here internally in very wide circles through the Virtual Economy Summit presentation at the GSM, our Fearless newsletter, sprint reviews, email lists and multiple other channels. This should not come as a surprise to anyone.
Currently we are seeing _very predictable feedback_ on what we are doing. Having the perspective of having done this for a decade, I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change.
We went out with a decisive strategy on pricing and we will stay the course and not flip flop around or knee jerk react to the predictable. That is not saying nothing will change, on the contrary, in fact we know that success in this space is through learning and adapting to _what is actually happening_ and new knowledge gained in addition to what we knew before and expected.
All that said, I couldnGÇÖt be prouder of what we have accomplished as a company, changing the world is hard and we are doing it as so many times before! Stay the course, we have done this many times before.

There is a very simple solution here, you don't like or agree with the system....DON'T BUY THE PRODUCTS. You vote with your wallet, not with your nerdrage folks. And, if you truly think that new products will unbalance the game, simply TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!

Edited by: Swearte Widfarend on 25/06/2011 02:51:26 I saw this thread go up last night. I waited for the CCP response this evening to do anything.
I read the original, unedited Fearless copy. Reading that was a lot more believeable than the edited version, as far as what they were asking and talking about. While I get the difference between reality and Fearless, I don't get CCP Zulu.
It was quite simple. You post a devblog and you come across aloof and out-of-touch in that devblog, and you don't address the core issue. The core issue is whether or not you are willing to compromise the core of EVE Online by destroying the sandbox. If you are going to sell game-affecting items in the Noble Exchange, and they are completely decoupled from the player-driven economy, you destroy one of the last few things that made EVE Online unique.
I am nobody in this game, I realize that. But Incarna 1.0 is NOTHING. It is one room and an attempt (perhaps successful) to bleed the EVE community dry with $70 monocles. You claim it is your most successful release. So what? You successfully released an upgrade with no real content (one room and hallway) that breaks core gameplay (bonuses not applied correctly on ships/modules, hangar functionality removed), breaks 8 years of backstory and lore (docking to the CQ clean, showered and dressed even for the 30-second mission swap), and partially functional, partially upgraded turret models. Your "success" is a smaller upgrade to EVE Online than the second phase of the three Incursion upgrades. With the attitude you've shown your paying customers, you can continue your road without my subscription(s).
Tonight I cancelled all 3 of my accounts. Whether I biomass those characters, that's up to you.

Edited by: Agrikaan on 25/06/2011 02:54:56 As an avid player since BETA, with 4 accounts, this is the first time I'm actually seriously considering cancelling all and move on to other things. For over 7 years, I said I would be playing EVE until the second the server closes.
This last year or so, I've seen several minor changes to EVE, that gave hints of arrogance. And now we have a major change that reeks of arrogance, then blogs and answers that add to that foul smell, and now a CEO email that makes me want to punch someone with red hair in the face.
I think I've had enough of it. Eat your arrogance CCP and Hilmar, fund your salaries and next game with it.
And when I leave, I will DESTROY my 100 billion worth of stuff. No one gets anything. Earn it, noobs. Or pay for it with RL money. :) Feels like CCP doesn't want my kind in EVE anymore anyway. They want kids that stay for the average 7 months and MT themselves into a monocle frenzy.

I will now proceed to express my displeasure with what will clearly be more effective measures. I.E. doing anything besides posting on the forum.

Well... Since we've gotten a leaked email from CCP's CEO? I'd guess the only answer you're going to get is "We're watching you... when you come limping back and re-sub we'll laugh at you, and then sell you game-altering MT items."
