The only reason I was ok with it was because it was to help combat macro miners, but im not so sure it does. I hate the PLEX crap, even though it has paid my sub ever since you released them.
Then delete all the capital ship bpo's. Oh and give me back my stackable MWD's, that was fun lol.

WE WANT the OLD Ship Spinning Environment back, and please, read this, NOT BECAUSE WE WANT TO SPIN SHIPS Like drugged up clowns for endless hours to do nothing, we want the old ship spinning environment because its FASTER, EFFICIENT AND MORE STREAMLINED that the completely counterintuitive mess that CQ is, NO we don't want a better or bigger CQ now, we WANT you to ENABLE the OLD HANGAR BACK, then you all can continue dallying with your "great success" of Failcarna Environments while leaving a main core aspect of EVE's oriiginal gameplay as it WAS.
Change is good, but don't forcefeed us your ideas of testing Incarna. Bring the OLD Hangar environment back and make CQ Incarna OPTIONAL, not the other way around.

Explain to us how people inside CCP pretended to induce us to Mass test an engine <that is obviously flawed and still needs a lot of work> by taking away FUNCTIONALITY from us? <bring back the old Hangar Environment, make CQ optional>

And as a final Note, next time you pretend to lead a company somewhere, EXPLAIN BEFOREHAND and thoroughly what are your plans, if you want eve to become a BUY DRESSES, READ REAL JAPANESE MANGA fest, say it so beforehand, don't lie or try to weasel your way out!
Don't get me wrong, I think the leaked Fearless thing and the implications is pretty damned important. But at the end of the day, this is the most damned important thing to me. Don't force us to alpha test Twilight Online!

Soundwave will NOT be fired nor should he. I personally would not like to see one of the driving forces behind the Alliance Tournament and the spiritual leader of Team BFF take a fall for agreeing to present one opposing side of the microtransaction debate in an internal newsletter.
This is 100% of CCP's problem the past 4 years. Hiring people so fing dumb that they can't even try to side with the players on game content and design and just say ****ing, bleed em til the game dies.
You wonder why we say your game is ****, look at the people you hire and side with. I've said it for the past 4 years, if I couldn't play this game for free b/c some dumb russian bot allows me to buy GTC's with isk, I wouldn't play.

Originally by: CCP Pann Edited by: CCP Pann on 24/06/2011 00:50:29 Hi, everyone
Some of you who have been around for a while may remember me. I was the original community manager for EVE. These days, I oversee the PR and Community teams. While most of what I do happens behind the curtains, I am still aware of whatÆs going on front and center. I would be lying if I said that whatÆs happening now didnÆt make me sad, but IÆm not here to ask for your sympathy. To be perfectly honest, IÆm here to buy time while we try to sort things out. No sense in lying about it so I'll call a spade a spade.
ItÆs clear that many of you are <understatement alert> angry </alert>. ThereÆs a lot happening, things are changing quickly and we havenÆt been as forthcoming as you were used to in the past. IÆm willing to step out front and take a lot of heat for that since I was the one who made the decision to hold off on responding for a while to see if things cooled down once the new wore off. I was wrong to do that and I apologize. We should have said something much sooner. We should have done more to address your concerns and be forthcoming, even if we werenÆt going to be able to immediately give you all of the answers you were looking for or the answer your questions in ways that will instantly turn those frowns upside down. To be even more candid, I cannot answer all of your questions, either, but I am working with the people who can to start getting those answers for you. Again, I know weÆre doing this past the expiration date of your patience but I hope youÆll bear with me. I know that, with very few exceptions, most of you donÆt know me from Adam. I havenÆt earned your trust or respect; therefore I have no right to ask anything of you û but I am going to try, anyway. Can I please count on at least some of you to help bring the pitchforks and torches down a few notches?
Like I said, I wonÆt be able to answer all of your questions tonight, but I promise weÆll start getting some info out tomorrow. As I see it, the chief complaint is regarding the high cost of goods in the Noble Market. Second, many people are unhappy about the CaptainÆs Quarters. Third, there are some performance issues with Incarna. I would appreciate it if you would confirm my observations or tell me what IÆm missing, but I do ask that you do it in a productive way. I will remove posts without prejudice if they are counterproductive to the conversation I hope to have with you.
If youÆve read this much, thanks for staying with me. If you have something to say, IÆd like very much to hear it.
Humbly yours, ~P~
*edited to fix a "doh!" typo
Yes, that is correct. People are upset because of the high price of cosmetic crap. And because the CQ that they don't want to use in the first place is too limited.
Nothing to do with that purported internal memo, and the lack of response there in, that basically is a plan to milk everyone for everything they are worth and kill the game by introducing special aurum only super mods/weapons/ammo which CCP said would never happen. You lied. And Oh look, you didn't even MENTION it in this post 'addressing' things.
Die in a fire.

Originally by: Pace eGuerra IMO CQ is an awesome step toward something that will take the game to the next level. But the Incarna release and the events that followed it have introduced two distinct problems; one of immersion, the other of trust.
In terms of emersion please fix the "I leave my ship when I dock" situation because that just kills the game. No pod pilot is going to de-goo him/herself and then get dressed just to drop some ore out of the cargo bay (or do whatever) and then undress, re-goo, and undock.
Ideally the solution will involve putting the old (or more sexy) docked view back, including the ability to spin the ship (seriously, that's part of EVE lore) and adding an disembark button that causes the pod pilot to de-goo and get dressed.
Put the "drag icon to change ship" feature back in. Put the station logo back in. Give us an indicator of what ship we have ready no matter where we are in station.
Also, provide a roadmap for Incarna updates from this point onward. I'd like to know when you will fix the above and when I can leave my CQ and enter the station.
Personally I don't care for vanity items or MT. MT is already in the game and does give advantage to players if only in the form of convenience. I know plenty of players who haven't ground for isk in a long time but trade PLEX for isk and spend all of their game time on PVP. Likewise I'm sure there are a lot of capital ships in the game that have been bought for cash via PLEX. But these are all optional. No player is excluded because they don't have $$$$ to throw at the game above their subscription they can choose to invest time and make isk. A player's ability to excel in EVE should not be a function of their disposable income.
What really matters here though is the loss of trust caused by the revelation that there are some people at CCP who think that they can simply milk the EVE players for cash by manipulating their human nature to cough up for items. Worse still, there appears to be a mentality that we will somehow accept that people can buy advantage in store. We're not stupid. If we were stupid we'd be trying to get to level 10,000 on Angry Birds and not spending hours learning how to play this game to our advantage. The fact that one member of your staff seems to think that golf players invest a lot of time in research and EVE players don't clearly shows that said member of staff has no clue as to who we are and what level of time we put into EVE outside of shooting/mining/trading ****.
In my opinion the only way to fix the trust issue is for CCP's CEO to release a video interview (yes, a video) to give us a direct and open explanation of what CCP has planned for this game and then stick to that vision. Rebuilding trust will take a long time. A pre-prepared written statement is not enough. I want to look into his eyes and see that he isn't lying through his back teeth about this.
All of the other issues are normal. Performance, bugs, undeclared changes; nothing particular new for a software update and probably things that we should be used to. Not good of course, but right now the immersion and trust issues are the key things.
If you need more money you have the option to raise the subscription price. Don't try and **** around with our minds because it's pretty clear you don't know how we think. This isn't WoW. This is EVE and it's brilliant because it's not WoW. Surely a predictable income is more important to your business than plugging your revenue directly into the unpredictable nature of the sandbox?
Some sense for once.

Originally by: CCP Pann The newsletter was not fake. I guess this is how it feels when someone reads your diary, something you hadn't intended anyone else to see. Not to deflect the heat but to explain why what I'm about to say, I wasn't involved with writing it. The only reason I mention that is because I am not going to presume to know the minds of the people who did have comments in there. I am not going to throw people I love under the bus or to the lions or whatever. I can't/won't answer questions about what they said or why they said it.
Our newsletters are written as a means to bring about discussion (that sometimes can even become heated debate) among our coworkers. That's really all I can say about it. I am not a game designer. I'm a mouthpiece. I'll admit it. By the time I get involved, the decisions have been made. Not making excuses for myself, just explaining.
Oh snap! Can't you folks see how much you've harmed yourself?! I'm still stunned to hear it's all true.
I do hope the "That's really all I can say about it." is followed by a person who actually can say something about it, because this isn't just going to go away, as you already surmised by now.

Edited by: Karthwritte on 24/06/2011 02:17:37 RePt like spam "Lemme tell you this, EVE its dying. Why? Because you started to not develop correctly, focusing in areas are not needed, and then thinking you can get a 7+ year game and completely giving it a 180¦ change. What we are seeing in these last days its that, first CCP its no longer caring about the allready existing costumer for a hypotetic future costumer you first dont have, and second, that you are completely blind about the scale of prices micro-transactions really should work.
Your first job as a developer was to perfect the gameplay and make it smooth as possible (within the parameters we all like) so there was no reason for existing players to quit. You should have invested more time-work-force into THE SPACESHIPS, more than anything else, because right now, that's what giving you milk.
You cannot pretend you are only a developer and you only sell games, like a 1 time experience like Portal, NO. You are a developer and at the same time you are giving a service. EVE Online its a sandbox, its made so players go inside, play, and interact massively across time with everyone else. So think about this like a restaurant or a school, you don't matter and are nothing right now without costumers that come regularly and make it good enough to bring more costumers in. You have made the costumers mad by putting a knife into their hearts, you have shown that you financially are doing something wrong and you have a thirst for money that at the end of the day its gonna scare your costumers.
There were plenty of things that were needed publicly and subconsciousnessly to PERFECT the game to a good point, but hey, you maybe didn't had the interest or the will to do it. You started to add things half way making it more difficult to actually make the game SOLID.
Another thing, MT model works perfectly in amusement park games. YES, those that you envy, people pay a little for something and then you move to another game when you find something new. This games are actually efficient financially because the development its not complicated and its efficient itself. Maybe they are called MMO but actually its more like a BMO where people rarely know each other or someone rarly makes something that matters and its so stupidly simple that people that are actually addicted to it (a addiction that exist right in video games, like smoking or drinking, videogames gives satisfaction. And many people cant handle it). EVE Online was a true MMO in Massive Scale and true sense. Its true that not everyone its made for its cut, but the community its allways the factor that make this game what it is. EVE Online is a space made to this community, like a growing herpes (or fungus) that find some places so cozy that they get stuck there.
Also another thing. CCP, you are FAIL. Its this HUNGER the effect of not controlling well your spending factors? You have broke my esteem for you, just as to many other people. My friends no longer play this game and there's no reason for me to stay here and keep milking your pockets with my ca$h. My last pay has been the 20$ reactivation thing and its gonna be my last. Maybe you will find me playing while this 60 days (less ofc now) pass for finally tasting what was a awesome place and I have given almost 2 full years of my life (I am a post Empyrean Age 2008 player who had its sabbaticals from EVE) without regretting the things I made with my friends who thankfully I still have in facebook (so there's no need 4 you). Been a amazing experience but since you wanna kill it, go ahead, I will always remember the good times that your service and my friends have given to me. When I want my Sci-Fi ships experience I will just play X3 and X Rebirth which I will pay once and I can enjoy it forever without giving a cent more. If this its gonna be the direction that CCP its gonna follow, then have been a pleasure flying with you all, even those I never met but made this a amazing flight. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU THIS COMMUNITY"

To start, Pann, thanks for the reply but as said by others, this is not your fight. I remember you from Jumpgate and early Eve but this issue is beyond PR in my opinion.
The issue is not of the cost of items in the Noble Exchange, but the fact that they are here at all in our sandbox. It is like finding a big old cat turd right where you are playing. MT don't belong in EVE.
Captain's Quarters. I don't mind walking around, but as said by others, it should be OPTIONAL. Bring back hangar view with our spinning ship and give us the option to disembark.
my closing thoughts are also much quoted lately:
Originally by: Jade Constantine Sure when you have been playing Eve as long as we have you learn to take the rough with the smooth but you do so with the general feeling that CCP developers understand and ôgetö what makes Eve great û and thatÆs the problem now. This internal newsletter (if real) shows that one of the leading developers does not ôget eveö does not care about eve, and simply sees eve as a cash cow to be milked ferociously to fund other projects. This is about keeping the golden goose of eve subscriptions (on a drip feed if necessary) while chasing and grubbing every little loose cent he can from the player base.
Let me give you a couple of examples of how this can and does (and has already) impacted our enjoyment of this game:
1. The Captains Quarters û itÆs not gameplay its a display cabinet for vanity items. And the price of this display cabinet for you and I is that multi-client performance in stations is now terrible û if you have a bad graphic card itÆs a jerk fest û if you have a decent graphics card itÆs heat-fest. I can run 3-4 clients with CQÆs turned on û I can run it smoothly û but do I want to? Hell no because my Gtx 580 sounds like its melting my motherboard now! So I need to turn off the CQÆs on multiple accounts and as a result have more limited functionality on those accounts and an ugly wallpaper. No more station environment, no more clicking on my ship to open cargo hold, no more dragging ship to the hanger to board it. The delivery of the CQ vanity item display case has impacted my gameplay.
CCP could have made it optional and given us the option of keeping the old hanger view and added a ôdisembark shipö option to the UI but ôoh noö to do that would have meant we werenÆt being forced to look the vanity display case that marketing insisted must be front and centre if weÆre to even think about buying these ridiculously overpriced items from the Noble store.
2. If you read the newsletter youÆll see reference to saved fitting slots û and I donÆt know about you Verone but in JF weÆve run out of saved corp ship fittings. We want CCP to up the limit but is that really going to happen while the ôbiz-devsö talk honeyed words about how to squeeze extra income from players for such ôminor upgrades.ö? How long till we pay aurum for extra corp standing slots? For wardec options? For a usable corp management screen?
3. And who develops these vanity items? Yes thats right its Eve artists and developers whose salary we pay with our subscriptions. Given the choice wouldnÆt you rather have engine trails and flashy cyno effect for all players rather than a bunch of overpriced tat in the Aur store for a fleeced few?
Because that is precisely the compromise being made here -> CCP using our subs money to pay for vanity item production they want to sell back to us for greedy prices and it is something you SHOULD get mad about.
So hereÆs the thing.
The time to fight for the game we love is not in six months time when these concepts have bedded down and CCP is feeling bold enough to start selling Noble Faction ammo and +9 implants. The time to fight is now. Because this newsletter embodies everything that many of us feared but didnÆt want to believe CCP were becoming capable of. It is a massive betrayal of the compact we shared as players and developers of this game and indicates that CCP is preparing to leap down a very dark and deep path of self-immolation in the months to come.
I donÆt want to see Eve Online die Verone. That sounds dramatic I know, but gameworlds die when the dreams and visions are extinguished and that can happen through a succession of bad ideas foisted on a community by people who really donÆt have much of a clue in business.
This cannot be quoted too many times, it strikes at the heart of what is going on here.
