I add my comment from the other threat, why i will / have canceled my accounts because i hope CCP reads it.
--
I have no problem with the MT store itself, nor with Incarna. I have a problem however with internal newsletter that propagate game-changing items for the store. And it is propaganda, for the 'lower employe', so he reflect the intentions of the management to the outside.
I also think the prices are in a way that shout 'Incompetence' out loud. These prices were made by highly payed experts? Seriously, you should watch whom you give your money....
Also, to compare virtual pixels with real live stuff (golf) isnt even ridiculous anymore. Do you really think, your players are that stupid? If i change my golfclub because the owners suck, i take my stuff with me. Try this with your monocle...
TL;DR: Its not the actual patch, its the overall reaction to player complains (or better lack of it) and the arrogant and smug answers that came far to late and were far to superficially to be treaten seriously.

He has been heavily criticized for his actions leading to the 2008û2009 Icelandic financial crisis.
Phew! Luckily he only has 35% and not 51% right guys?
And why would CCP have to milk us? Their profits have increased by 1.2million in the last year! From 245k to 350k subscribers since 2008!
Original article here http://www.mbl.is/vidskipti/frettir/2010/04/30/hagnadur_ccp_eykst_um_1_2_milljonir_dala/
Therefore I can conclude that CCP is only including microtransactions because we, the players, want them. Thank you CCP. I will now resubscribe.
I would say most people may not mind them, I personally do not know anyone that actually wants them, $1.2 Million is a pittance when you're paying to run an MMO, CCP bought new servers to fight lag, they updated Python code, they're developing Dust 514 and that will need it's own servers as well, plus there's monthly bandwidth which can cost in the millions per month for MMOs. I can understand why CCP is doing this, they're strapped for cash and need to make some solid extra revenue quickly to get back in the black, but the way they're doing it may be good for their wallets but it's bad for the game, bad for their reputation and generally bad for the customer experience because EVE is different and that's what people want to keep.
I've seen some subs here with 8 characters, that's $120 a month or $1440 a year on a game from a single individual, that's almost unheard of and yet it's commonplace with EVE Online for people to have multiple character subscriptions.

You don't seem to understand. They have made around $50 million revenue. 6million + in profits means they are making money, they are making a profit. There is money coming in. They would not be making a profit, but a deficit, if they were losing money, which they are not.

You know, given Mr Hilmar won't talk to us, he's very chatty on the subject of adding MT to EVE with the press press ;D
http://www.develop-online.net/news/37905/CCPs-PSN-exclusive-triple-A-title-is-free
ôWe anticipate that Dust 514 will transform the landscape across PlayStation 3 and the PC, ushering in a new era of shared cross platform gaming.ö
CCP CEO Hilmar Veigar PTtursson added: ôWhen we set out to build a true persistent shooter for consoles, it was evident that Sony's dedication to providing a flexible and MMO-friendly platform -alongside a robust virtual goods business model- made the PlayStation 3 the natural home for Dust 514.ö
His quote to the trade mark you.
"robust virtual goods business model ... across the PC"

Edited by: SimonTrent on 26/06/2011 01:58:57 Myself and my Girlfriend have closed our 5 accounts, after years of playing and being a apart of this game, and telling people about it and trying to get them to try it. I never thought CCP would make me feel the same way that NCsoft did to me many years before, now i have no MMO to play. because in my opinion up tell now all others sucked balls.
What ever happened to having everything in the game to be player created?

this is dissapointing as it can be. i never ever expected ccp to be so arrogent, insulting, liars, ignorant and sometimes even disgusting - they were my heros back then when i started playing in 2005.
there are some basic rules on polite, "grown up", serious conversation i.e to answer questions. (even there are many many rage-flame-posts, some of those here are realy reasonable and worth being answered..) no sig. |

They were added as an item sold by NPCs and then, a few expansions later, converted to something made by players.
I'm not going to whine until someone proves that the AUR items will actually be better than the existing ones and that they will completely bypass the player market forever.
...but people won't listen. 'Cause I'm not going to be extremly loud about my opinion. Just this one post. 3.

I have no probs with the price of clothes in the Nex...there are plenty of idiots out there that will pay for virtual crap, that they cant take with them...but put game changing stuff on there is a game buster.

They switched to Windows Server instead of Linux, EVE Online Server side started with Linux, even the UI looks and feels like linux, EVE Server was written in Python, not C or C++. Linux is harder to use it's less user friendly but can be optimized more, Windows is easier to use but can be optimized less because it offers less direct control and changes.

Edited by: Dryderius on 26/06/2011 02:10:51 It is normal that there may be performance issues after an expansion.
That I, as other people, have to become accustomed to the new captain's quarters is also normal. At the moment it is nice to watch, but a bit unpractical.
I give a damn about vanity items in the mt store. People may buy it or not.
What I want to know is, if you're destroying the eve economy and game balance with the introduction of SP, LP, Ammo, Ships for AUR? And hell, it should be possible to get an answer to that from someone in three days.
I've unsubscribed, my account is active till July 16th.
Further I've to say that the tone in the document and e-mail says much about how you view your customers.

Why? Because it increases market demand when the item is needed to succeed. So of course the bankers will do it.
Have you looked at who is running CCP?
edit: oh and because CCP SAID "WE WILL BE ADDING"
