I think this has always been the case. Things have made people(old players) unsubscribe in the past, and some even for good, but new players arose, and CCP acknowledges that. They don't care too much about old players as old players would like to think.
That is why they don't give a **** about the complaints, threats of unsubbing to get in their way of their visions. New people will come forth, not knowing Eve of old, and approach the game the way they think it is. Rinse repeat.
Despite massive unsubs in the past, CCP has still grown in active player base. Why would they think that will change? They will attract new players with new visions, and the new players will not know how much have been unaddressed in the past.

Please read it again.
Have you not also seen the changes to the structure of the game engine to allow for all these things to be monitized?
Have you not seen features being removed so they can be added again later as MT?
The story is kinda complex so I won't and probably can't build the complete picture for you. Especially if your frame of mind is to never believe it regardless.
so....
317 pages. Someone must have written something about what CCP has confirmed. I'm not listening to anything until someone has proof or a very detailed (almost scientific) report explaining their theories.
The age of wikipedia and trolls does require more than just random forum posts.
here is the original leaked newsletter https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=1JyQUwykkAcb3DArKx2qHXeeJlbyy0wJMaUjx2KwxdmT51p7RiV8XkfS_jrE2&hl=en_US It was confirmed real on page 5 of this thread. CCP is ignoring us because they think we're going to forget about everything by Monday like some goldfish with a three second memory. Kind of insulting isnt it? Lets prove them wrong.

I have no probs with the price of clothes in the Nex...there are plenty of idiots out there that will pay for virtual crap, that they cant take with them...but put game changing stuff on there is a game buster.
The problem is, that the MT psychology generally work like 'low prices, lots of items'.

I do not agree with this.
Outside playerbase, nobody knows about CCP. You can be sure most of new customers come from the same player base.
CCP is not Blizzard, Eve is not World of Warcraft.
Don't remember well the last stat, but appear like each customer has an average of 2,6 accounts, so compared to 400.000 active subs, the actual player base is not that big, and even worst, each time a customer stop the games, it is 2,6 subs stopped.

Note that I didn't do the math in euro's. This number could come out a lot higher, but I err on the side of caution.
Where can you see accounts unsubscribed and monacles sold?
Seems someone sold their soul to the devil and is loosing (CCP). ---------------------------------------------

Just reading it now. I suggest EVERYONE reads it. Especially page 7.
"virtual goods sales are far less appealing when the gameplay is affected and they arenÆt replacing a black market. When weÆre adding additional things into the game that enable users to gain an advantage over other people for real money in a way they simply wouldnÆt be able to if we hadnÆt done so, then it becomes an issue. I feel that if people have already paid a subscription fee then unless there is a good reason for the overall community to introduce a gameplay-affecting virtual goods sales (such as with PLEX), then gaining an in-game advantage isnÆt justifiable. More revenue is of course an aim, but making our customers feel like they are being ædouble billedÆ to be able to play on the same level as others is just a step too far."

if that number of 3500+ cancelled subs is correct and assuming they are all on 1 year sub plans (which they wont be) ccp has already lost a potential of nearly 400,000 dollars in revenues in the next 12 months.
we need about 5000 more to hit 1million dollars in lost revenues for CCP.

And whole new players that has never played Eve before will enter the game, and buy multiple accounts. If what you say is true, then most players would originate from 2003. They don't. Each year a bunch of whole new players enters eve. Some old unsubs for good. Others return. New players, like old players, understands that it is a good idea to have multiple accounts in Eve.
I don't understand what you are trying to imply with CCP is not Blizzard, and Eve is not WOW. If it is the multiple account thing, then yes, the actual number doesn't represent a similar amount of unique IPs, but that is not really relevant for what I said, or really relevant at all.

* Removes ship trails. * Removes faction towers. * Removes a bunch of stuff that isn't in my sphere of understanding. * Adds the ability to add arbitrary skill-points to characters. * Internal document debates MT as fact. Pro case cites it as "we are" and comes from more senior staff. * CEOs email talks about how wonderful an innovation they are leading off on. * Community asks for solid confirmation on non-vanity items after seeing the mix of features and discussions leading this way.
Response:
* 3-4 days of meetings. * Recalling CSM to Iceland (allegedly).
So.....
Answer me this.
Why can CCP not respond to that question without first completely reevaluating their position?
Answer: Obvious.
