You have a PR disaster brought about by a shoddy product that adds nothing to immersion and seems to be designed purely to fleece us for more money.
You have internal communications detailing how you plan fleece us further that is written in the most unapolgetic way. You include an image and quote from Gordon Gekko and refer to the people who actually pay your bills and fund your salaries, mortgages and nice car as a "golden goose".
Gekko went to prison and Jack killed the golden goose, did you not see the film or hear the nursery tale and digest the message of both?
You then make it worse when you send people on who cannot answer our questions or reply with trite answers and a condescending tone! we _dont_like_to _be_patronised, in fact how dare you talk down to us given the mighty fail you guys have implemented.
This is your Star Wars Galaxy NGE moment CCP, next move is yours lets hope it is to rectify and reassure the player community rather than wave goodbye to yor subscriber base and jobs.

CCP have shown they are interested in money more than in the respect and opinions of their paying customers. As such we as a community have an opportunity to get a message to them very clearly.
To all the people saying they are un-subbing their accounts. Go and un-sub them. We will be sending them one of two messages today. The first, if we SAY we are un-subbing but donÆt, will be that we donÆt actually care and they can do or say whatever they like and we will continue to pay. The second, if we actually go and un-sub, will tell them in no uncertain terms that this is NOT ok and we arenÆt push-over n00bs to be trifled with.
Again, go and un-sub, when the CEO comes into work to find even 10% of accounts have been un-subbed they WILL reply and they WILL consider the repercussions of making changes like this.

Soundwave will NOT be fired nor should he. I personally would not like to see one of the driving forces behind the Alliance Tournament and the spiritual leader of Team BFF take a fall for agreeing to present one opposing side of the microtransaction debate in an internal newsletter.
Soundwave SHOULD be fired, but not for this in isolation. For everything he's been pushing through for the last half year which is ill-conceived, badly implemented, and has screwed over the player base.
As spiritual lead of BFF, I can tell you that he has NO friends in alliance level logistics after the harebrained, idiotic, pointless JB changes. He has done more to harm the rank-and-file EVE players than anyone else, by increasing the general tediousness of the game - things that you, CCP, should be working to remove.
This is merely the last in a long line of events which have proven him to be acting in the worst interests of players. And when this is pointed out to him, what does he do? The same thing CCP always does in the face of complaints about staggeringly stupid and overwhelmingly unpopular changes: Sweet **** All.
START LISTENING TO YOUR INCOME STREAM
This is about so much more than aurum.
It's about how shocking CQ is after 5 years of development. How pointless it is. How annoying it is to have it forced on us. How terrible the performance is. How much it breaks the immersion - I'm standing in a station getting messages saying I have to be in a pod to do various industrial actions. It's about you guys wanting to charge $99 for other people to do your job and make your game playable. It's about how you made the game more-tedious for most people with the JB changes. You made the game less fun to play, and you did it intentionally. It's about how you don't listen to player feedback. It's about how you ignore the things we want done (the CSM topics such as blops improvements, POS improvements, docking radii changes) and instead force upon us stuff that we don't want and never asked for. It's about how you've broken the game with supercarriers that you STILL HAVEN'T FIXED. It's about how you've broken the game with rampant botting which permits the purchase of the supercarriers above. It's about how you've killed nullsec industry. It's about how unbalanced technetium is, which caused the "problem" of leviathan alliances in the north. And how often you were told it was going to be a problem. It's about how you made Dust PS3 only, tying players to a company which has shown a staggering disregard for data protection
Most of all, it's about how you don't give a **** about any of the above.

hey CCP Pann
thanks for the apology. you asks what we want.. well, have you not been reading the forums in the last couple of days?
there's plenty of quality threads and suggestions on how to fix things. here's one. this one delivers for instance http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1535588
you have the thousand paper cuts threadnaught: that should keep you busy
finally, please, please, please: start listening! work with us, not against us. you pride yourself on this and then you betray us in such a way? here's a few points no more hidden nerfs - like the probe one CCP veritas is struggling to maintain - read the forums listen to the CSM listen to what people say at the fanfest commnicate internally!
prioritise on what the player base wants. the space simulator vision is great, but that can come with time. we are playing now and we need working mechanics that keeps us interested!
the fact you are even asking to tell you is embarassing for a bit and experienced company such as yours!

4. The leaked CCP newsletter is deeply worrying because it does appear to break promises made by CCP to the CSM (and via them to the wider Eve community). It shows massive disrespect to our community and makes it painfully clear that Eve players are simply viewed as a cash cow to be relentlessly milked to fund other ventures.
The PR damage from this leak is immense in terms of broken trust and hurt feelings and it will take more than simple apologies to repair û I think the Eve community will need to see and be convinced that these terrible ideas will be abandoned so we can return to our subscription-based sandbox unthreatened by Gorden Gecko and his macro-transactional madness.
I believe you need to re-engage with Eve community via the CSM and devblogs, developer-chats etc and actively win us back at this point. I certainly need to hear that you are turning from the destructive path of greedy money-grubbing microtransactions for everything with one hand while you continue to take my subscription money with the other. I need to get my faith in CCP the company back.
5. Finally, the principle that microtransactions could be widened to include balance-breaking advantages for cash payments on top of the subscription is simply untenable in this environment. The impact of doing this will be many lost subscriptions to the perception you are double-charging people for content and breaking the gameplay integrity of the single server environment. You will spoil a gameworld that has been eight years in the making as the Noble Exchange has already begun to spoil our sensation of the sandbox and as the rushed incomplete terrible-looking CQ has damaged our collective suspension of disbelief.
If you must go down this route then Eve will eventually need to go free-to-play and you will have to exist entirely on microtransactions for everything. But I think we both know this is not going to fly. I strongly advise you to take the message back to the management that if you are short of cash simply look at upping the subscription fee rather than messing with the sandbox in this destructively short-sighted manner.
$70 dollar monocles or ôgold torpedoesö will not bring the crowds flooding into Incarna. People join games because they are original, accessible and fun. That is why World of Tanks works û not because the developers there are offering bling tank-decals for premium bucks!
CCP already have a unique IP in the worldÆs biggest single-server science-fiction simulation sandbox. Stop trying to copy the bloody fairy sparkle ponies in Wow! Put your minds back on Eve Online front and centre and finish the content we need finishing and stop trying to force-feed us with microtransaction-delivered immersion-breaking rubbish. You have a loyal and passionate player base right now. Work a bit at keeping us.
Monocle-gate has made CCP the laughing stock of the gaming industry.
Listening to the player base and stepping back from the egotistical insanities of the "greed-is-good" brink will be the one thing you can actually do that deserves to be called ôfearless" at this point.
What the Constantine said. CCP - time for a reality check, and hard. In fact time to roll some heads to appeace me tbqfh. Fire the people that are not only trying but actively ruining your prime product. It is the sensible thing to do.

Also props for giving a single, straight answer on the initial "is it real" issue.
I hope that this turns out better for you, and that CCP as a company treats you better than SOE treated Tiggs.
(Yes, that's a NGE reference. No, I don't think this is the "NGE" moment. Yes I think it's bad. No, I've not unsubbed. Yes, I retain some hope that after slogging through this 80+ page threadnaught, I'll find that things are getting better. No, I won't be surprised if I don't.)
Anyways, back to slogging through the threadnaught, and let's see if this breaks all Eve forum threadnaught records.
CCP Pann fo shizzle is not a hero. Just doing the job of a PR is all. The only reason CCP is responding now is because they have to, otherwise their silly little game of cash grab is going to go down in flames with all "It's Glory". For the newsletter, and even thinking about how a system like this would be good at all makes me actually want to see this game burn down to the ground. That way institutions can study what happened here, compare it to SWG, and learn that you cannot do these type of things to your customers. This is unforgivable, this is treason. I say lets tar and feather them, or better yet cancel your subscriptions. There are certainly better things to do with your life than this. Look at the world around you.

Well, the problem then is that while they spent those years making it, they also spent those years telling us it in fact would be optional.
^ This. At first I was against making it optional; but I've reconsidered my position, as the guy with the 'zoom-out' idea (somewhere above) makes it so immersion isn't broken for either side of the argument. I find his to be an equitable solution to all.
I agree with this... although I love CQ I think a suitable solution to most of this would be to dock into the old station environment (redesigned slightly to make it look like the new hanger). You then press a buton which gives you an animation of the pod coming out of ship and it puts you in the CQ environment by the steps where the open pod is currnetly shown... problem solved no?

If you coloectively quit, where yall gonna go? CCP has two other products coming which engages two different types of player bases. This rage is nonsense.
Two other products that are associated with CCP. The thing about the gaming community is that if a company upsets their player base badly enough it's not just going to effect the game that's at the heart of the dispute it will effect all that company's games as the dispute itself in not over the game but over that company's behaviour/ideas over the game at the heart of the dispute.
You also have to remember that people recommend games in the gaming world and if the company's behaviour has been seen to be some what under handed then it's not just going to be Eve that is not recommended it will be all the games associated with the company.

As a long time EVE player this is just shocking. I can't really comprehend what made CCP take this road for more revenue. I support vanity items but trying to make this game like DDO and other cash shop games is not sensible. If CCP doesn't reconsider their ways this game will surely fail cascade. I for one seriously think that this might be the time to cancel subscription if this is the direction CCP is taking. These were fine 7 years...
PS. check up on the history of Star Wars Galaxies and their adventure with New Game Enhancements.

With respect throwing you into the lions den, to do the 'PR' aint gonna wash with anyone anymore.
One interesing thing also is why are you allowing this game to be controlled by RMT Alliances, that you KNOW it happening?

Thats just taking the ****, it literally flys in the face of what CCP has stated very recently to be policy that AUR would be for vanity items only, you've basically been caught lying through your teeth and we all know that had this not been leaked you'd have found a way to work it in on us down the line sometimes.
So to recap, basically explain why CCP's internal memo flys in the face of your public policy that you announced only a few weeks ago.
