Please think. Read how this whole hype began. Then go through it slowly and carefully. And you see the rage which is venting there is indeed based on "wide theories" you created.
Thats ladies and gentlemen is called brainstorming without borders. You done it.
If you think that after this they gonna do exactly the thing you predicted and raged over, than i am sorry you cannot be helped.
If you think that was kind of productive, and will await positive outcome you are welcome.
Now appolgise where its due. And CCP free those you banned over this. Thank you in advance.
I may be naive. But Hope is just imaginary. So its up to you.
Quoting myself for i am the last who is sane here.

Edited by: diaufop on 24/06/2011 21:30:22 Well at least the blog answers one of the questions.
PAY-TO-WIN WILL BE COMING SOON TO EVE.
The simple fact that Zulu deliberately ignored it is as good as a confirmation.
I hope the few who continuing playing this game will enjoy their $1000 cash-shop only super-ships and their gold ammunition.
Oh, and just for fallout:

That Dev blog has got to be, by far, the most pathetic, completely out of touch response to a problem that I've ever seen.
I'm dumbfounded by it.
CCP had a perfect opportunity to work with the community, and instead they deliver a textbook example of a one-fingered salute to thier customers.
Soooo glad I left WoW for this. I guess I'll let my current sub run its course while I look for something else to play.

CCP with all due respect to your latest blog. You have still failed, even if thigns are as you say.
Fearless You've seen the carnage and ruckus we can and will create if any form of game altering MT is implemented. Enough said
Virtual Goods Load of crap with all due respect. You sre still implementing somethign that rewards those that are wealthier in RL. That creates disdain. If you're going to do this then fine BUT... having these items be indestructable... completely unreasonable. If you're going to have these in the game then let them be destroyed on podding. Probelm solved.
Just remember the warning on gamebeaking MT - we simply won't accept this. I've not attacked anyone at CCP over this so please listen to what I say. Others have admittedly taken things too far, but that's becuase they care deeply for your creation, Fearless makes it seem like we care more than you

I see what CCP are doing with EVE: They think EVE is an EXTENSION of REAL LIFE; and thus PRICE ITEMS AT REAL LIFE VALUES.
That's just FECKED UP.

"I hope Iæve addressed your concerns and cleared up a lot of the issues youære having. Weæll continue monitoring the forums and other communications channels and pick up and reply if there are concerns not covered by this blog."
I'm going to try and address this point without anger, without ranting, and without insults:
A recurring theme here, as well as in local in Amarr and in Jita (where the mass protests are occurring), isn't the insane prices of vanity items, which is what was primarily addressed in the devblog. It was the idea that the Aurum exchange would expand beyond vanity items, and into the realm of game-affecting items.
Let's take the $1000 pair of jeans vs the $10 par of jeans argument made in the devblog: When you buy a $1000 pair of jeans, the money went toward the designer, the tailor, the weaver, and the harvester/processor of cotton. When you buy a $10 pair of jeans, the money went toward the designer, the tailor, the weaver, and the harvester/processor of cotton. Now let's apply this to Eve: When you buy T2 ammo, the isk you paid goes toward the manufacturer, the researcher who made the T2 BPC, and the miner who mined all that ore. If/When you introduce "better" ammo to the NeX, and you buy it with Aurum (which you got from paying cash to CCP), where does it go? Or let's say you bought it on the market for isk. It goes to the guy who paid cash money to CCP to make it appear from nothing.
What makes the economy of Eve so special is that it is, almost in its entirety, player-driven. Even shuttles aren't seeded anymore. So when you're granting better "stuff" to player A who simply gave more money to CCP than player B, it does not enrich the game whatsoever.
We (the playerbase and the CSM) were told that microtransactions would not be happening. Ever. We (the playerbase and the CSM) were later told that microtransactions would be limited to vanity items ONLY. We have this newsletter now which discusses otherwise, and here's what we (the playerbase and the CSM) are so upset about:
Our concerns are not being addressed. Rather than say "Yes, we're doing it." or "No, we're not going to do it." you tell us the following:
"The opinions and views expressed in Fearless are just that; opinions and views. They are not CCP policy nor are they a reliable source of CCP views as a company. The employees who submitted articles to that newsletter did exactly what they were asked to do, write about theories and opinions from an exaggerated stand."
All the playerbase is asking for is a simple "yes" or "no". By the refusal to answer this question, many of us are left thinking that the answer must be "yes", but CCP will not say so now because, in the words of Kristoffer, you're afraid of being proverbially "burned at the stake".
I'm inclined to believe the answer is "yes, we will be introducing game-affecting items into the Aurum stores, but we're afraid to tell you because it's going to make so many people angry".
Someone please tell me I'm wrong here. I really want to be.

Originally by: The Mittani I'm late to the threadnaught because I was out drinking last night and then sleeping it off. Whoops.
Points:
*Making martyrs out of Helicity and Liang is an act of comic incompetence, mid-PR-disaster.
*Greed is Good is a typical example of CCP's absolutely awful messaging. The contents itself are fairly innocuous; the one guy mentioning selling ammo is just some mook, not a producer of consequence. All the same, they might as well have had an internal newsletter called "I WANT TO **** MY CUSTOMERS" as far as the messaging impact is concerned.
The timing of GiG leaking with the NeX opening is masterful on the part of the leakers and awful for CCP.
*I don't care about NeX prices. They can charge hundreds of dollars for sparkleponies and monocles and I don't give a rat's ass - I'm here for the spaceships.
My concerns are keeping microtransactions away from the combat gameplay and fighting for balance and an improved spaceship-on-spaceship experience. Lag, supercapital imbalance, iterative ship balance, all of these things matter far more to me than a store with clothes for a space barbie.
Something I can finally agree with The Mittens about, this must be hell.
Ditto...first time a DU member can agree with a Goon...

They said this at this year's FanFest. They said, very clearly, that EvE isn't a game. They said it's real. Helps you understand their mentality.

Partially understands, but ultimately misses the point of protest completely; it's not about the price of monocles, it's about wasting time on introducing broken content and mechanics instead of useful stuff, it's about one of your founding fathers dissing your customers in an internal newsletter.
Well I've certainly not been convinced.
